How to begin to learn? - Making your own nutrients

I know fatman mixes his own, some of you guys do this.

I want to begin to learn the things I need to understand to do this. Anyone can help me with keywords, things I should learn or paths I should follow in my self-teaching? I am not chemist but there are only a few elements I have to learn about right? Well some others H202, chlorine and stuff I plan to try.

It's funny I always end up answering my own questions here.

I have been studying, learning how plants transfer nutrients and etc. A lot of where I am is still right on Wiki's Plant Nutrition still. Anyone have more pointers please list them.

I don't know why you want to make your own. There are labs and folks with advanced degrees in horticulture that have already formulated nutrients meant for weed. Nothing you make will be any better than what's on the market today...

it can be cheaper and more efficient if you know what you are doing and it never hurts to understand the science behind everything. understanding can also help you make more educated decisions when it comes to buying nutrients even if you choose not to make your own.

Yeah I am not sure I will make my own but I want to understand it. I have no driven desire to be a nutrient creator. My main plants will stay on bought nutrients, I do want to play around a little here and there though, to learn, to really understand. Now if I found a cost effective solution that provided awesome results, then yeah I would do that instead.

P.S. Don't be a naysayer on this topic, other forums are leaving us behind when we even had fatman7454 in the first place we should be leading these conversations.... If you wanna use commercial nutrients please just SSSSHHHHHH and go do it.
