How to change PH of res tank without taking out the water

Hello people. I am mew to hydro. i am curious how do you guys adjust the PH once the water is in the tank? I am adding my nee feed at a PH of 5.5 and it just naturally rises. I will be letting it raise to 6.2 and them bringing it back down to 5.5 and so on. I was just seeing if you guys take the water out of the tank and re adjust or Perhaps add some ph down to a cup of water and mix straight into the res? The only problem with that is i dont want anything to strong close to my root system as they enter the res. I am using a NFT system! Thanks!!

My tap water has a pH of 7.2 so I add lots of water if I accidentally add too much acid.

When I add pH down I mix 1 dropper per 1 of my containers of water ~3L , and then pour it in the Rez. That give me a pH of 5.8 that I add. Some times I mix it a little stronger if I want the pH to go lower.

You would turn of your pump and add it to the tank/reservoir.
A range of pH can't be a bad thing so long as it's inside an acceptable range, on paper it'll give the the plants a wider range of available nutrients?

It is that simple. Just don't forget to turn the pump back on after you have thoroughly mixed the pH adjusted nutrients and verified the pH is on target.

If you were running something like a RDWC you would simply add the buffer gradually while the system is circulating so it doesn't spike the #'s.

Ok so last night i got in from work and my ph was about 7.5 in each tank. I added it at 5.5 the day before. So I turned the pumps off, adjusted the PH accordingly, checked the PH this morn and its back to 7.5 ish. Not wanting to keep adding PH adjuster. Any ideas?? I am usi g the shogun line. I always go a little lower than recommended full dose on my nutes perhaps that could be a problem? Im

Are you using an electronic pen to test the nutrients directly in the res or are you pulling a sample cup to measure? If not then give that a try because pumps / air stones seem to throw off the pen reading for some users.

Is your tray covered to block out the light? Do you have algae growing somewhere? How large is your reservoir?

In response to both Highflow and Renfro. I am using an electronic PH pen and get the same reading in and out of the res. Its 20L tank i have two and theres only 0.1 PH difference all though when i first added the feed there was .3 difference as was in a bit of a rush. I havent spotted algae and would be surprised as the tops of the res are well covered and the canopy is pretty mighty. I am using canna organic PH down. Maybe its not manly enough to hold the PH stable? Ive got canna PH down ‘bloom’ maybe I’ll give that a tester. Not wanting to keep adding buffer to the res incase of any toxicity. too small a reservoir to be stable. dont' use organic pH adjusters.

I need to adjust ph every day. I have a 10 gallon res. Such is the life of a small res grower. But going from 5.5 - 7.5 in a day seems wrong. Ill go from 5.8 - 6.3. I get home and add 2 or 3 gallons during flower and about 1ml ph down. I check ec first and add nutes if necessary after water.

Yoo! For future readers reference, i switched to my canna pro ‘bloom’ PH down. I filled the res two days ago with a fresh load of feed and haven't had to adjust the PH yet. (Changed nutes 2 days ago) so dont waste your money on organic PH buffer! Cheers foe the help!
