How to choose best genetics for outdoor

Hey. I'll make some quick situation so you understand what my question is.

Let's say I bought some seeds of the same strain for outdoor and want to choose best plant to make mothers for outdoor growing. What should I look for ? The plant that grows the most vigorously ? Or maybe I should flower them and then rejuvenate, see which plant gave the best yield, the plant that I had very little problems with.

Maybe I should give'em some harsh climate, such as temperature and humidity jumping and see which resists to it the best ? Do you guys have your own methods ? Cuz in my opinion, you will have best yields if you choose the best genetics.

Why not learn from others and look at what strains they are growing and what climate they are in. Pretty sure some one on here is in your region or has been. Also do a search there are threads about growing certain strains at certain latitudes on the web. Good Luck dirrtyd

Thank you for your answer dirrtyd.

I done lots of research on strain genetics, and which ones would suit my climate. I chosen the best ones. But this question is not about climate. Haven't you noticed that some plants (when growing from seed of course !) does better than others ? They just looks healthier, taller etc... When I was beginner, I thought, why some plants does better than others. They all have same light, same water schedules, same soil and fertilizer. I kept chekin pH etc... Then I just thought that this stuff must be genetics of the plant.

So let's say I choose Purple Power, which suits my climate perfectly, and before season I grow 10 of them to get best mothers for clones, which will grow outdoors. That's the question. Some of them will grow better, some of them not. Even 10 plants from the same strain will be different. Unless you are growing strains that god bred by himself :D. Like Thai.

You know strain Big Bud ? Do you know that if you start 100 seeds of'em, only 25 will give you that pheno which gives incredible yield. At least that what some banks are saying :). So, I think that if I want best yields, I should flower all Big Bud plants, see which one gave biggest yield, regenerate her, and make clones for mothers. Then I'll have 100% large yielding plants. At least that's what I understood from information on internet :).

So I am asking if there's maybe some easier methods to get best genetics of some strain.

Why don't you grow a bunch of plants, take clones of them while they're in veg, flower the original plants and keep the clones around for mothers. Once the original plants are finished, you'll have the clones from each of them, and you can decide which one/s are the keepers!

Good idea, I feel like fool now :D. Thank you

I think I should make perfect conditions for mold and see which ones resist the best. Does this sound like good idea, or I should give it up? :D

You could spray one lower branch on each plant during flower to see if some are more resistant maybe? But I wouldn't intentionally get your humidity too high, because indoor plants don't have the same resistance levels as outdoor plants, based on the fact that they've been grown in a controlled environment. And besides, why grow a crop indoors if you're gonna try to ruin the whole harvest?

I just kinda thought that first I should know what is mold resistance. Why the heck some strains resist to mold perfectly while others not. They grow the way that they have better ventiliation ?

You know, I could take 1 cutting from each plant and but it in other growbox to flower, then make the perfect conditions to mold. I'll see. I think I'll dig deeper and share results with everyone. :)

The main idea was getting mothers for best yielding, healthiest and vigorous plants, but if you add best-mold-resisting, it would be kinda perfect :D
