How to figure what a power source can handle.

Hello and greetings all!
I have tried the search engine so im sorry if its been asked before. Instead of running light off my old house im running heavy duty extentions from my shop to house where my grow tent is. Its an old school heavy duty set up in my shop,for example one of the fuse blocks had two 60 amp fuses that also said 250 in small print. The guy used to have a small semi-truck repair business with welders and compressors,even has a 220 thats not hooked up. I run nothing in the garage so i figured it would be safer.

Stupid question would be (please keep mind i suck at math),how do i figure what i can handle? Eventually would like to run a pair of 1000 hps +AC in tent.

To avoid any confusion, can you take a picture of the plug on the cord and the wall outlet it will be plugged into?

First, an extension cord shouldn't be used as a permanent fixture for heavy-duty things like lamps, motors etc. Having said that, if you're working with a 120V circuit at 15A, the most you could run on that single outlet is one 1000W lamp. It draws 8.33A. A circuit should never be loaded at more than 80% capacity for long periods, so you've got a little over 3A to play with on that circuit (a couple of fans and a humidifier for example).

You're best to run a full, proper 240V circuit into your house, and divide it up for your grow from there as 120V branch circuits (or even 240v if your equipment can handle it).

I should probably redo my situation. I got a ts600 n 1000 its super cold here. Last time i grew weed it wasnt this difficult. lol

A ts600 and ts1000 would be around 300-350 watts? I'll stick with leds.
