Hey guys an animal must have gotten too close to my crop and one plant has a busted stem. I found her on the floor now I propped it up and am wondering what's the best metthod of mending that stem. Just let it be or wrap that shit up in guaze or something? Would covering the busted part in soil be good or bad? Any help would be great. Thanks

I use wodden rope, and remove as soon as she can hold alone to not make any pressure on the stem as it grow.
I think tape of any sort is not good. I would be scared that the plant might absorb the glue or stick too much and hurt her again while removing the tape. but still, it work.
Just be sure to have the less internal part exposed to air ...as possible. :P

edit: Also I'd be scared for the gauze... it might try to push in new roots from the node if the gauze get moist. (as in "Air Layering" cloning)...but it's only a thought, i really don't know ;)

Just had a main stem break on me three weeks into flowering, right below the third node region at the top.. Not a good spot obviously. But I found a miracle fix. Splinting didn't work for this break, and if you say duct tape you're an idiot. PLANT CELLULOSE papers sealed the break, added support and will biodegrade on its own.. not only that but it limits chances of rotting because it's still getting sun through the wrap.. She was standing at attention in 30 minutes after a little water, and hibiscus homebrew... Miracle shit. I will swear by it.

I just broke a main stem on my best looking female like a foot from the top. Im not to clear on where you broke yours and if it was completely broke off. Everyone says just splint it with some electrical tape and a splint. Here is how mine looks. I honestly dont think it will work though because the leaves are drooping above in a limp dead fashion. my finger is pointing to where it broke exactly.

they aren't limping toooo bad in this picture, but a hour later, boy o boy were they limping.

use a few short bamboo stick 12" long is good for a main stem breakage (the smallest diameter you can find is the better) put a hand full of em a around the stem than turn a hemp cord all around them with the stem in the middle. after a couple week it should have regain all it strengt.

Dov Farwells grafting compound and tape it or tie it. That stuff is like Elmers glue for plants.

I use electric tape and green plant tie wire on every broken branch I ever had 80% survival rate sofar. My rule of thumb on this subject is after you tape check back in 24 hours if its still limp its fucked if not limp its good.
