Hi, I am just curious. I have read in some magazines that commercial growers who are worried about power companys seeing a repeat in there electricty bills from timers are using some type of relay maybe called a flipper. To take the power from lets say for example one 600w ballast and without breaking the power it switches the power from one ballast to another one. Does anyone know where I can find a plug and play model for something like this. If not how about a wiring diagram to build your own. If someone could help me with this I would appreciate it. Thanks

I believe its called a flip-flop, and you can find them at alot of hydro shops. If you look around the range from about $200 to in the thousands.

Thanks for the info. as far as concealing your power uses. From the old Cannabis Culture magazine that I was reading it said that if you have a light on a timer to go on and off the same time every day that the electricity company can monitor and see that your power is gaining lets say 2000w of power every day at lets say 6Am and 12 hours later it goes off. Commom sense for anyone who knows anything about growing and you know what 12 hours mean. There isnt too many things in your house that uses 2000w of continuos power. So with a flip flop you can have a steady draw of 1000w 24 hours a day. One light turns on at 6am then 12 hours later the flip flop switches the power to another reflector so there is no break in power. Because there are a lot of things that run that power 24 hrs. A TV, PS3, thats left on. Is this a concern for somebody using a couple 400 or even 1000w lights in the US. probly not. I just couldnt figure out what the name was called. Also, this is not my opinion I have no idea if this is true. Just what I read.
