How to flower outside?

Hi all, i have a couple of plants outside and they are about 10 weeks, i want to start flowering and was wondering how to go about it as the outside sunlight is way too long and will be for a while. Can i just put a cover over them so they only get around 11 or 12 hours or is it not that simple?

Yes it is that simple.
The problem is being there everyday at the same time[or as close as possible].
Another problem will be heat inside the cover, a big refridgerater box would work, but ya still gotta vent the heat without letting in light.
You could have passive air flow coming from the bottom, but to vent ...I`m not sure.

Thanks, i see what you mean. It sounds like its gonna be harder than i thought. What if a unexpected visitor comes around and sees a fridge in my back yard ha ha unless its full of beer. i dont want it to veg for another month or two either! not sure what to do?

do the trashcan thing OR be patient and let it grow into a beast! do you not want to veg it longer bc you think its big enough and just want bud off it now or bc you dont want people to notice it? you could always just top it if the later is the issue :peace:

I would love to let grow into a beast but family are going to visit soon and its to big to move now! Have a light(600w HPS) but no where to put it, got rid of my grow cupboard, no cuboard space available and i dont have a shed, garage is always open and closed all the time. Might have to go with the garbage bag thing.

make a big cabinet in the back of the garage. inset small door somewhere and when someone ask what it is, tell them storage. inside said door make a closet, inside closet make a hard to see entrance to your op.......grow there forever happily....... ooops thats my plans. haha.

Sure, why not? As long as you do it well (consistently). You need to do it the same time every day and need to make sure it doesn't get too hot or humid inside.

put them in a shed or out house, or put a big trash bag over it,or a big plastic bin.
where are you from to be getting sun at this time of year, how much daylite v's dark. where you are?.
as long as a plant gets 12 hours full lite and 12 hours compleat darkness, a plant will flower. but if you do bring it indoors and start putting them into 12/12. then make sure your bang on with the 12/12 times and when the plant is in its dark period,no lite leaks or they will go hermie.
just keep the times bang on and no lite leaks, and you should be fine, any close up pics, of the plants.
were the clones or seed?.

Put them in a closet or similar dark area so that they only get 12 hours of light. This also helps keep bug problems to a minimum.
