this works for me every time. Pick twenty places to drop off a resume. Go into them and ask to speak with the boss. Dress nicely and tell them your ready to do anything and can start immediately. Out of twenty you will get at least one, sometimes two or three. Pick the best one. It only takes one day. And dont dress like a tupac wannabe. Thank me later.

^^^^ This is good advise. Have a pen, boots, whatever tools needed to go to work that moment.

Start by reaching out to a community career centre
You're rehab house conseller or someone like that will have that information

Make an appointment to speak to someone at you're career centre they have resume writing classes
Tips
And how to do an interview

Go to goodwill or somewhere that can help you with a nice pair of slacks and shirts tie perhaps a men's shelter will have access to this if you do not have any

Follow the community career centres advice
Check your job boards (will be at the career centers)

Hand out resumes at every place within walking distance just because someone isn't posting that they are hiring they still might be

Be polite and kind
If you need anymore help just ask me
Part of my job was this

Just depends where he lives if he has access to transportation or only walking distance
How much money his rehab home allows him to carry etc how many things he needs to be at for the home too

All depends

Since I think you are in Florida, you just missed the travel season for the most part. But, I would say, apply at Super Markets, Box stores like Walmart, Staples, Home Depot, Lowes and stick with it. While there get your pell grant and take a few classes. Like manufacturing will get you a good Union like job. And apply at all these high profile manufacturing jobs over and over. And keep your chincy little nothing job and build some time there. And move up. If you are thinking manufacturing go for a 2 year associated. Maybe robotics, CMC. Electrical. There are lots of options in that field that will get you into an 80k a year position(after you work in it for 10 years or so). If you apply yourself and get good grades and have a good work history.

There are alternators aside from manufacturing. That's just what I know even tho I'm a desk jockey now. Nursing, surgeon helper, food industry(cook)..... Check what skills are needed in your area. Not fields like Graphic Design or Criminal Justice. Those fields are flooded with qualified grads that work at Starbucks.

OTR truck driver. If you can handle it. Drive for ten years save up 10's of thousands and just live in the truck. Get off road pay for a house. Get another job with retirement.

Piss test will likely be required in a manufacturing job. Truck driving it's a must. You can't smoke weed and be a truck driver.

Most places will tell you to go online and fill out an aplication on the website. This is usually a waste of time. Its better to go places and talk to someone to see if they are actually hiring. If they say go online, they are probably just turning you down but trying to be nice about it. And dont go when they are busy. If your looking at resteraunts go between lunch and dinner.

not necessarily true, ive have plenty of jobs through online applications
its just the company uses online applications as a better way to categorize and organized their hiring process, it leaves an electronic trail rather than paper, it may also mean the hiring management do not live in that specific town or are there enough inorder to look at paper resumes.

I guess it works for some people but i never got a call back from one. Filled out like 30 of the things and they take forever when they have those 60 question personality tests. I don't mean to say you shouldn't try it if you have nothing else, just don't get your hopes up with them.

Look in retail, they should be hiring seasonal people now for xmas and black friday stuff.
