How to get a plant bushy.

Another quick question, this may seem stupid but im completely new to this, but how does everyone get there plants so bushy while there still young and small?? Or even get them bushy atall, do u just top them lots while there little?

Also if you can use an MH bulb for veg as it tend to keep them more squat as some strains stretch more under hps reds.

if you don't feel like risking a crop or lst, just get your lights as close as possible and they won't feel the need to stretch. Side lighting helps too to get those inner shoots flourishing.

Yea and if ur just starting out have ur light schedule like 20/4 bc plants grow non the less and when u put them in darkness they stretch upward In search of light so less darkness less height. I had my plants on 24/0 for the 1st cpl weeks now I'm onto 18/6 hope that helps. And also everything everyone said above as well :)

Agreed with all of the above. What kind of lighting are you using? I use T5-HO with 6400K bulbs for veg, and I cram as many lights as I can around the plants. Inadequate lighting will lead to leggy plants.
 
Make the soil organic and fertile, with a high humus content, and lowly stress the plant to direct its growth horizontally by LSTing, topping, and the other good methods mentioned above.
