I really want to do a outdoor grown next summer using dr green thumbs Irainian auto flower but the seeds arent that cheap and I can be!! LOL there only offered as a feminised seed so with no males available can I produce them by letting the plant go past her time of harvest and hope for a few pollen sacks to develope (soma way) that i would collect and use on another plant the only problem being that plant I would be pollinating would be a feminised female and ive read thats not good breeding !! but what choice would I have??? or is there another way?? thanks!!

cloning, the IAF isn't a true auto and can be cloned if the mother is left on 24 hours of light so you can make hundreds of plants from just one plant.
The 'other" way is using colloidal silver.

i like the question but youve overcomplicated your problem.. the easy salution... outside of clones as mentioned. would be to grow a male of another strain persay northern lights as that strain seems to mesh well with about anything and has alot of good qualities ; quick flowering potience yeild ez to clone...and then back cross the (f1) NL#5 x iriainian auto.. in other words you would sex irainian x NL#5 to its mother the original irianian strain. the resulting offspring an f2 hybrid would mostly show the traits of the irainian but maybe pick up a few good traits of northern lights as well. this is a game of pacients it would take more time.two generations of breeding but it would be the best way to ensure stronge genetics. backcrossing or BX is a common practice used by breeds to achieve strain stability. you could also just breed them once and look for a mother plant who shows the traits you want. that maybe the way to go f1 strains tend to be the best mother plants. if that isnt a useable salution or somthing your willing to undertake then ill fill you in on how to turn your female plants as well. you may or may not have heard that light leeks can cause plants to go hermi. or chang sex. this can be done intentionaly for purpose of breeding feminized seeds. simply set a light cycle at week 4 of flowering to 12 hrs on 5hrs off 2 hours on and 5 off. the two hour interuption of the dark period will almost definetly cause your femenized plants to produce pollen sacks. i wouldnt recomend using STS or colloidal silver but om also a strict organicist..chemicals.. well i jus dont like em.. anywayz. i still recomend my first suggestion. if you turn your irianian autos the buds will pollenate themselfs..making seedys nugs with low potiency thats no good..also the resulting seeds of self pollenation are useless because they are inbreeds and carry weak genetics. youd also still be looking at breeding into another strain due to the fact that you dont want to inbreed. and also as you said yourself resulting offspring would be femenized. i think i covered your question. it was a great question one of the best ive seen for a long time on this fourm. hope i helped shoot me a message if you have other questions on this or if i need to clear anything i have said up for ya. good luck yo
