I have a standard power strip with 4 CFL bulbs plugged directly into it. Doesw anyone know a way I can fabricate something that will make it easy to raise and lower? My problem is making it adjustable So I can control height and closeness to seedlings. It is just sorta awkwardly propped up right now. I tried hanging it from eye bolts with string, and it was all over the place! I guess I'm not too handy, lol!

lol i had mine hanging from eye bolts :) try a dowel with an eye bolt in each end strung up with a chain on each end and buy some clamp lights clamp them to the dowel and there you go makeshift cfl light strip complete with reflectors and all.

The way we did it was we had some eye screws? the ones with the round tip so you can thread some rope through it. We put them up on the walls and the ceiling. Then you string your rope through the holes and tie all your lights to it, you tie it off on one end and the other you have loose with something to tie it off to manually. You put the eye holes higher than you think you need and let the lights hang a little bit. pull to lift and tighten.
