How to hang my lights??

Hey everyone, i'm setting my room up and i have one problem, i'm scared to screw some utility hooks into the joist. Is that bad for the foundation? I have a pic off of google that shows what my basement celing looks like in that room. I have completely covered with white mylar film and you can see the indentations of the joists. How should i go about this? i'm hanging 4 600 watt lights 2 on each side of the room, the room is around 10x10 and above me is the kitchen.. (this is why i'm chicken sh*t to put some screw hooks in the joist, am i wrong?) so anyways please someone enlighten me on how to go about this! thanks, all comments appreciated.

yes just screw a couple of hooks above where you want you're light to hang, then use chain so you can easily adjust the height,

Sounds good but where on the joist?? the lowest point?? (the thin side) or on the side of the joist? (the wide side of the 2x4)

anywhere there's very little weight in most reflectors, and the thickness of those joists are more than capeable of hanging 10 lights from, i would screw the hooks into the thin bit at bottom,

You will be good to go hanging your lights from the joists. As Robsterb said, the lights do not weight that much and it won't hurt your foundation at all. Happy growing.

If u r concerned about modifying the room with hooks u can do as I did. I went and got a sawhorse clamp set and 8 foot 2x4s. Then hang the lights from it.

fuck worrying about modifying go to the diy shop and find the biggest screw you can find then screw this nearly all the way into joist! now when you go back upstairs into your living room and the screw is sticking 5 foot out the floor, dont worry use it as a coat hook!!! lol
