How to lower ph level of soil?

Hi,
When I first planted my seedling, ph of the soil was 6.5.I watered it with water (ph level around 6.3).As time passed ph level of the soil went up.Last night I gave my plant her first fertilizer dosage in water (Floranova grow). Now ph level of the soil is 7.5

What should I do to lower my ph level of soil? by watering with 5.5ph leveled water or something else?

Thanks for the advices

i might try some water and h202. hydrogen peroxide. maybe say 1/3 of a cup per gallon. do it 2 days before you feed and clean your water tank out after you use the peroxide. the peroxide will kill your good bacteria so you will need to reanoculate them. make sure when you feed with your fertilzer your ppm's arent to hot. you should have been feeding a little bit at the beginning and got hotter every week. less is more. you dont have to follow what ever the companys products you are using says. a little less is better then a little more. every genic strain is different.

are your plants displaying any problems? are you flushing regularly? some people do a feed/feed/flush regimen. are you allowing any run-off when you water/feed? when i was in soil, i never flushed. i just made sure that i had adequate run-off to flush out built up nutes.

Dude, this is a soil grow, read the post before you contribute.

***DO NOT PUT PEROXIDE IN YOUR SOIL***

If your seedling isn't doing good, I'm going to guess (since you don't have photos) you probably have it in too large of a pot. Lets start there. Am I off?

I'd say a pot about 2x2" is ideal, but no larger than 4x4". From seedling. If the pot is too big too soon, they'll devote energy to root growth and less to upward foliage.

are you kidding me? lmao! i grow in 5 gal. smart pots with auora roots. i use h202 at least every two weeks. i use an organic chemical mix. its humbolt roots. the only thing that isnt organic is the "a" and "b" otherwise 100% organic. there are 10 ways to do the same thing. if you are happy with your results thats killer. i too am happy and proud of my girls. everybody does things a little different but ive been doing this long enough. i get a great yeild and quality all the way. great taste, great legs and i havent seen it done any better. if your doing it better then i, good for you!

You shouldn't have to feed a seedling nutrients, the soil should contain what it needs.

6.5 in soil is the minimum, if you go below this you will eventually wreck your compost. You dont have to pH your water unless you have to buffer up from tap water! The soil has a much harder time buffering up than down, so if your water isnt above 9pH i wouldnt even bother as the soil is more than capable of buffering anything coming out of your tap.

Do not listen to the lunatics who are advising peroxide in soil!
Peroxide in soil will kill all of the micro herd!

here are some photos of my plant and the grow environment, just to make everything clear. I think that there is no problem with the plant.

however i still need a solid answer about lowering soil ph level. so far ive only learned not to use h2o2 but how do i lower it?

Whoever uses peroxide in their soil, is way off base.

And the poster that says that growing in too big of a pot is not good for young plants, you need a reality check.

If you wanna control the ph factor in soil, add some "finely granulated dolomite lime", and mix it in with your soil.

It will keep your ph near perfect from beginning to end. :hump:

Hey man im trying to do the same thing in my soil right now and the two things ive heard are peat and also sulfur. Im going to be looking into it today bcuz my soil is at like a 7 or 8 and im gettin what looks lik a lil nute lock out. Ill let u kno what works I kno for sure that dolmite lime does help to stabilize it at pH of 7 and you can just topdress it and scratch it alil into ur soil and it helps buffer ph. I would definatly do that since your plant is still so small. But I believe it is more used for raising low ph instead of droppin a high ph.
