how to make my plant flower?

i have a 4 month old outdoor plant and i think its a femal because it has pre flowers and i want to know how can i make it flower already because its around 3ft tall already and i dont want it any bigger
i live in nor cal
i heard if you leave in a dark place for a certain amount of time it will start to flower is this true?

the plant needs 12 hours of continuous darkness each day to flower. some people just cover outdoor plants with a cardboard box overnight and for 12 hours total.

but isnt it true if you have it in darkness 4 a couple of days it will start flowering and then cant it just continue to have the same light schedule since its outside and grow buds since it flowerd in dark thinking its time to flower?

I believe I heard that from someone else, it can stress your girl but it is possible. I would try it, but give her at least 8 hours of daylight since she gets her energy to produce flowers from the sun...

what i do is put my girls in 36 hour darkness when i switch from 18/6 to 12/12 light schedule at end of dark spell im waiting with bud blood to induce early flowering and it works to by the way

but just a dark period of two or three days by itself will do nothing it will just encourage flowering to actually see results it normally takes around the second week or or so of 12/12 light schedule with no light leeks during the dark period

if the plant is in a pot outside find a new area where it'll get less than 12 hours of light. that's total light, not direct sunlight. even ambient dawn/dusk light is enough to slow the transition into flowering. my thoughts is that IR light is what helps the plant to naturally transition. none the less. my plants that i keep outside and move into a tent for 12 hours in the evening have started their transition already. it's been only 1 week of giving them only 12 hours of light. however, the ones that are outside fixed in the soil were in veg state when they went out and transitioned to flower, but the transition has taken over a month and now flowering has begun in full force as somehow the plant knows the days are no longer getting longer.

are you aware that when flowering starts that plant is going to double if not triple in size? there are things that can be done but it's something to plan on if you have space or stealth concerns.

lol ur plan makes no sense, putting it in your shed for a couple of days to begin flowering quicker only workse in indoors rlly, because oyu need 12/12 want u pull it back out, other wise that ocuple of days of low light will do nothing

just be patient and wait for the season to change
their are many things that can reduce the height of your plant, look into LST

I can attest to that, my Sativa was 12 inches tall in veg, then when I flowered that bitch went to 4 feet!!! As a matter of fact shes getting chopped in about a day or two...

Yah get a garbage can or any other makeshift device to regulate daylight after your forced flowering attempt.
