How to make simple light trap for ducting?

I have a 6" duct running from my grow room directly through my poly "wall" and out a window to outside. Problem is about 30-45min before the lights come on the sun starts to rise, and I get faint light coming through. Not much, kinda like moon light I guess coming through the vent. And I can't switch my lighting schedule because if I try to go any earlier with my lights on ill just be getting more direct light in the evening when the sun is starting to go down before lights out, know what I'm saying .

What is a easy effective way to light trap my ducting, without loosing any-little intake suction?
Would I just be able to bend my ducting on both sides to a 45 degree angle to stop the light? Will this cause loss of suction?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Create a simple S bend in your ducting.

As long as your ducts are screened with something like pantyhose to stop unwanted visitors from entering your grow room you'll be fine.

I do have the ends of my vent screened, so should I be fine with the minior temporary light leak?? Is that what your saying.

If I make a s bend should I loose noticeable suction? My intake is passive and air is being sucked in via. Negative air pressure from my active outtake.

What I'm saying is make an S bend.

The comment about screening was to make sure it's screened.

You won't loose any suction really for a simple S bend.

Aight yeah that's what I though. Thanks for the help J. You that man yo

So just to update just made the bends hope their good enough. Due to the way I installed the ducting I couldn't bend as much as I wanted to, but I think I should be good . I'll just have to check tomorrow morn.
Here's a sketch almost exactly how it is

If you're going to use ducting make sure it's not reflective on the inside.

I use a "light sluse", it's a box against the intake opening, with sort of like part of a maze in it.


Box from the side. Made from wood, painted black on the inside. Air flows through, light can't bend around a corner... With a bit of math you can calculate the size you need to prevent decreasing the intake.
