How to measure RH while curing your buds

I read that for a perfect cure you should stop drying when the RH reading is 60% ¿? and the buds are starting to look crispy, then you have to slowly dry the buds in jars/sealed containers until it reaches 55% RH ¿?. My question is: what are this readings and how exactly do I take them? do I have to put the hygrometer in the container sealed with the buds? Pretty confused, please some help

Here it is, all the credit to bigtopsfinn @ cannabis.com forum:
A perfect cure every time

Jar the product, along with a Caliber III hygrometer. One can be had on Ebay for ~$20. Having tested a number of hygrometers - digital and analog - this model in particular produced consistent, accurate results. Then, watch the readings:

+70% RH - too wet, needs to sit outside the jar to dry for 12-24 hours, depending.

65-70% RH - the product is almost in the cure zone, if you will. It can be slowly brought to optimum RH by opening the lid for 2-4 hours.

60-65% RH - the stems snap, the product feels a bit sticky, and it is curing.

55-60% RH - at this point it can be stored for an extended period without worrying about mold. The product will continue to cure.

Below 55% RH - the RH is too low for the curing process to take place. The product starts to feel brittle. Once you've hit this point, nothing will make it better. Adding moisture won't restart the curing process; it will just make the product wet. If you measure a RH below 55% don't panic....

Small pet hygrometers. Throw one in the jar with curing buds and watch the indicator. Open the jar when humidity gets too high, close it once it lowers and the humidity levels out.

this is a fine art, i will vouch for the caliber III that masp mentioned
the cheaper ones may work, but not everyone seems to have good luck with them
the caliber III is an accurate cigar hygrometer, it works well

your going to dry plants in a tent while theres still other plants growing in it?? If so that sound like a horrible idea....You want your buds to dry in a dark cool well vented area....

I dry my buds in my tent but not while theres plants growing in there........The light and the heat from the Hood wouldnt be good for the buds end result......

When i use my tent i turn off lights and dry then in the tent(in dark) and i leave my vent system running to keep good air circulation......I check them once a day tell i think they are close to having snappy branches then i put them in jars......I dont wait tell the branchs snap like alot of people say i wait tell i think they are almost about to start snapping then i cure them.......I found that if i wait tell they snap seems they get alittle dryer then id prefer so now i start the curing a day or two earlyer then what i would have done in the past.....Ill cure them aleast a month long if not more.........
