How to open a dispensary – Legally

If you have started to wonder about how to open a dispensary, you probably are realizing we are in the middle of the new age gold rush. Many have coined it the green rush.

With many states having already decriminalized cannabis and even more moving to do so over the coming year or two, there’s never been more opportunity to open a marijuana dispensary. But the first question is always about how to open a dispensary the right way.

Yet what do you have to actually do to open a dispensary? Where do you start? What’s involved when you know you want to start a dispensary?

too LATE BRO... most states make you have atleast 500 grand in escrow.. atleast.. and it all has to be legal money obv...

theres hundreds of hoops to jump threw.. go on norml and figure it out.. no1 cares here lol.. no1 on this site has half a million to open a business that will eventually get raided by the feds.

If your being serious and actually thinking of it. Your best bet is to maybe get a lawyer and talk to someone in the government.

For starters you'll need alot of money. As with any buisness, you need money to start. A store front, insurance, displays, stock, advertising will be needed before you call sell anything. Also, every state is different. I live in PA, so its illegal here, but im sure the different states have different laws. A medical state probably requires staff with "medical" training. Start by reading the bill that made your state 420 friendly. It should have the requirements for licensing in the bill. In all reality, your probably better off growing and selling to a dispenser instead. Less headaches.

how do u make 1 million dollars in the restaurant business? Start with 2 million. There's a great niche you just identified. Guidance through starting a legal dispensary.Figure it all out, tack on a margin consultancy fee of 30-40% and bam! from what i heard dispensaries have to grow what they sell.

That was very helpful! And yep, every state has different laws with regards to marijuana legalization. It requires a lot of work to study the laws involved, but I think it will be worth it.

i been looking into this for the last year for myself ........the area i am in has made it legal but not set the rules on how it is going to be governed (2 years of waiting for them to put it out but the last 3 votes were missed do to the fact they did not allow anyone from the biz to be on the board to write the rules ) so they have 93 pages on how to deal with the plant but nothing on the extracts so the whole vote has been delayed for at least another year

now to get started is fairly simple ..........go to a state with the shops already set up and work for them learning everything u can .......2 3 years in a shop u learned almost every ascept of it then u can take that to your own in your home state

the next part is getting the paperwork and all the done .........now there are several ppl set up just to do this like www.greenzipp.com .......they will tell u what u need and give u the paperwork ......or u can pay them to do it all of it and fallow the plan they set up to be 100% legal

Store front, Grow facility, Cameras, Laweyers, Accountants, licensing for all of your connected growop/store front. In colorado it is $16k for a license, and you need to have your property pre rented when you apply for your licenses...so you need to have enough income to support a 6-12month wait to grow.
