how to open a dispensary

I tried. I spent months putting it together. Had a lease, lived on the street in Ypsi for a week to get my license, and ended up in an ugly lawsuit with the property owner for breach of contract. He tried to force us to pay more money and not do a huge amount of work to the building. Nothing but heartache, misery, and empty pockets.

Don't bother.

Ah before dropping 50k, you already have a lawyer on retainer and you're still waiting to see how (if) our laws get amended.
Also, if you have to ask how to open a dispensary you're probably not really anywhere even close to the level of commitment required. Not to discourage you, but be real.

How do I build a third bridge to Canada?

I am closer by asking the question now I have an idea to what I need to work towards. But I still have a lot to still do like wait to see what happens with the laws in Michigan.

I'm just gonna tell you that any place that was going to be able to have one is already filled up by now. The laws in all towns and cities have strict zoning that was put in place, and it wasn't with the idea of letting them just open wherever they want. You need to study the zoning laws, make appointments with the city officials, get the maps, do tons of research of traffic and the list goes on and on. It isn't a fun thing to do, and most people don't want it near their businesses anymore. Its getting downright ugly. You'll need to find someone who is willing to rent to you for that purpose in the designated areas, which is almost impossible too. I have at least 500 hrs into doing what I tried to do, and that doesn't include the court appearances and litigation for the lawsuit that resulted from it. Just grow it man.

buy weed call yourself compassionate make a spiffy name and sell the weed.

this is the best answer---

or start a delivery service and advertise on Craigslist---
there are a lot of them on there
good luk! hope it works--

and definately DON'T pay a lawyer any $$ to figure this out for you---
you can see the other poster paid a lot of $$ and what did they get??

a story to tell--
or go ahead and pay one--they love mmj patients they are very compassionate here in our wonderful state towards dispensary set ups--

Have looked into this pretty extensively. Considering it, planning on it, unless farmer's market prove to be better, easier, etc.
The challenge is not so much opening what you consider a dispensary, it's keeping it open, staying out of jail. Not letting LEO, or tweakers rob you. etc.
Hiring an attorney to file all your appropriate paperwork has always been the no-brainer of deal. Lawyer we spoke with wanted like $1500, maybe it was closer to $1k. Didn't ever check around. It was with great mj attorney and that was much cheaper than we had thought. If you do all your own paperwork, and file shit, it better be right.

telling someone to forget about a lawyer is a dumb move alot of businesses get lawyers to do all the legal shit when getting up and going..also they're plenty of MMJ friendly lawyers .. lawyers know the loopholes and thats why you hire them

For every club I've been too, there's been someone who has tried to rob them. I went into a club rather recently and they mentioned some old drunk guy just broke into the store and stole a few pipes then left.

I'm not saying getting robbed is by any means a common occurrence and I'm sure it varies somewhat on location but you would be stupid to not set up a good security system. Bad news is the cops most likely won't do much if something does happens, unless you catch the person yourself..

this is why i said get a lawyer in the first place...they answer those questions... do you really wanna take legal advice from somebody that you dont know over the internet that doesnt "really" know for sure? or somebody that deals with this shit on a daily and its there job to figure out how you can legally do it... ya its gonna cost money but atleast your getting a PROFESSIONALS opinion...

I think if the courts rule in favor of patient to patient when they rule I think compassion club set-up will be blowing the hell up. Another thought might be buying a dump instead of renting a building, location may suffer though. eliminates the owner extortion.
