How to properly dry cannabis

You need to hang it up and dry it slowly, get a couple of fans going but not blowing directly on your buds.I always found adding molasses to the mix during flowering always sweetened the taste a little.The final product taste will depend on strain and your patience.Good luck.

No, as long as you don't have the fans blowing directly on your stuff. They're just for circulating the air and preventing the nasty problems that come with stagnant air.
A good month of curing in mason jars will bring out most of the taste and smell, but remember some strains just dont smell that dank.

I am a firm believer in the slower you can dry it without mold the happier you will be with the final result. Everyone has their own little method they go to and as long as you yourself are happy the is the biggest factor. Personally, where I live now it takes a couple of weeks to a month to get them where I will put them in jars. I know that is a long time but that is my climate and temps. I have a nice airy room now where they hang with an almost constant breeze, in the mountains. Drying slowly allows all the chemical processes to continue in the bud which gives you the smoother taste, you have to get rid of the choraphyll in the plant to be able to get to the good taste of the plant. You also have sugars and starchs which need time to finish their work in the bud. Curing in the jars and allowing to age to me is like a good glass of wine. I really hate if I have to break into something that isn't 6 months old, but that is just me and how I enjoy it the most.
Try every method you can that sounds like it would work for you, it may take years or you may be like some of us that are always tweeking the process or seeing if indeed there is a better way. Enjoy

You sound like a true connoisseur of Cannabis, I'm picturing a happy old farmer in his straw hat and overalls, walking barefoot through his vineyard...weedyard. I'd love if I had a jar that made it to 6 months of curing
They never quite seem to make it that long.

thanks I resemble that remark, I wear shoes these days, don't chew tobacco anymore. I do wear bibs on occassion but usually in some camos. Love my plants, nature and life. Good herb truly is like wine though need a different one for the most enjoyment of the day. You will also find that like the grape the bud is going to taste differently in all different soils. I saw it mentioned earlier about not having the fan blowing on them, why not? What damage does this do? Or does it simply just speed up the process which is not advantageous to a better cure. thanks
