How to put a cord on T5

I purchased a nice 6 tube T5 and the guy told me you put a cord on it like anything else . Well , it seems to not be so -

It has 2 black , 2 white , 1 greyand red and one green . I would guess wiring the 2 black to the black on cord , the 2 white to the white on cord and then I am unsure . Do I wire the green and grey/red together and then to green on cord or just the green to green and then what with the grey/red ?

The fixture is sexy and with the bulbs was $179 and the cord was around $10 so it is a great deal if I can wire it . The store happens to be closed on Sundays (today) but I planned on setting up the new system today . It is 5:30am and they don't open until 7am tomorrow so if anyone can help me it would really help me out . This dude sells these HUGE CFL's that go into regular sockets I am going to use on the perimeters .

I am hoping I get a good enough yield with this low heat set-up to save me from buying the HPS lights again .

If you do not know for sure please do not offer misleading advice as I don't want to die in a fire !

Thanks .

2 black and 2 white? Sounds like 220. and green should be your ground. A photo would probably help someone figure it out for you. There are few electricians around.

It is 110 according to the box but I believe it is a universal ballast . It looks like I could wire just the right side wires (black , green , white) like a traditional 110 but I don't want to take a chance of having live wires hanging .

It is made by Lithonia .

I taped off the extr wires and put the cord on the other set and only the middle tubes lit up . Maybe they gave me a 220 by mistake ? It says 110 on the box . The store is close if I need to swap it .

Well , drank some Bourbon to get my nerve up and did the black-black-black , white-white-white , and green-green-grey/red and it works !

If any electricians see this please tell me if this is safe . I stripped the ends and used the plastic caps and put waterproof electric tape around them .

Thanks .

If it's a universal ballast just use the black, white, and the green for ground. Wire nut the rest and tape them away from each other.
