So you don't have to worry about re-amending dolomite lime to buffer ph? How long does the lime last or is it just a kick start until the micro-biology take over?
I have gone in another direction since posting that. I got tired guessing what amendments my base mix might need, and more importantly not need.
I get my 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 mix as before (the peat third is now 1/3 peat 2/3's coco coir) mixed up and send that off to Logan Labs for testing and then this guy soildoctorconsulting.com reads the test and recommends amendments and minerals. I then leaf tissue test before flipping the lights to see what the plants may need and and amend (if needed) before flower.
Why did I change? I wanted to elevate my game to be the best grower I could and one can't do that, IMHO, without knowing what's in the soil and what the plant is taking up and/or missing.
It's an added cost for sure. Probably a $100-150 per cycle but it's worth it to be to cut through all the BS and be a science based but still an organic, no till grower.
I grew some nice buds before, but I think they are nicer now. And I know WTF is going on instead of guessing all the time which may not something everyone is interested in doing but it suits me.

PPS You can also have Build-a-soil read your Logan Labs test results for free but they ask that you buy the amendments from them in return. I think it's less expensive to pay the guy above to read it and buy the stuff online.... and usually in the smaller quantities needed.
PPPS this video will explain the process. Scott Skamnes (Cresive Soil Services) was my first choice of people to work with but I found him to be really unreliable for actually getting my stuff done on a timely basis. I think he may not really be interested in working with smaller or medical growers anymore?
