How to strech plant in veg ???

I planned of making clones out of the 2 bigger plant and im wondering why do they grow small compact and bushy like that. I think maybe the light space between the plants is for something or im wrong? like closer light they will grow more spread out and small and if the light is further away they will stretch more to reach the light? I only need branching 2 inch longer and i will cut em but time is a issue and i need to get them out in 3-4 week max. Anyone have a tips?

I mean.. if you want... take your light and max our the height. But doing this you will lose all strength in your stems. It's not worth it. Give it time. Honestly.
