how would you be able to tell if your buds are wet , dry , or too moist??
so you saying let the meter be around 60% ....is that like the humidity level or sumtin??put a aquarium hygrometer in the jar. your looking for 60% or so for curing....
In terms of hygrometers, you want a Caliber III. You can get one on ebay, Amazon, etc. You're looking for 60-65% as a curing range. There's a bit more to this. The thread is stickied at the top of IC's harvesting forum. If you have questions after reading the tutorial, I'd be happy to answer them here. Good luck.so you saying let the meter be around 60% ....is that like the humidity level or sumtin??
It's a good method but it's not necessary. You don't need a humidor sensor to cure weed. It's either dialed in with tools or it comes from experience. Most "pros" I've seen hang it on twine until feels right and opens the lids on a set schedule.if you don't learn how to do it without a meter, you're always going to need one.
That's not true. A hygrometer allows one to properly gauge the state of the product. Correlated with one's individual impressions (ie. the feel, look, smell, etc at a given point in time), in time he can do without a hygrometer and achieve the same results. This is quite different than playing a guessing game with no real point of reference.if you don't learn how to do it without a meter, you're always going to need one.
Heh, stop by IC and note just how many professional growers use this method and why. We've come a long was since the mid-80s.It's a good method but it's not necessary. they probably came up with the % numbers by using the meter at a stange when they knew the bud was too wet/dry/not readyIMO Simons method is over rated and i dont know where you came up with your %'s.
Most of the "pro" growers dont use hygrometers and probably dont even "cure" there weed.
your opinion wasnt really helpful to the OP's thread now was it..im not hating and i said most pros not no pros.
i said in my opinion which everyone has.
I said its over rated in my opinion, i never said its total bs.so why totally call it BS?
I agree that it is not needed, it just makes it much easier. If you don't have a controlled drying environment (humidity, temp control) then your cannabis will always dry at different rates depending on the weather at that point in time. There are many threads that help you to always properly cure your flowers no matter the given time of year. So if you don't have a "pro" drying facility, Hygrometers are the way to go. It took about 8 years of testing by yours truly and confirmed by about a year and a half of testing by hundreds upon hundreds of other growers. There's a reason why it's stickied on IC.IMO Simons method is over rated and i dont know where you came up with your %'s.
You should read the original thread. I thought I already said that. Actually, you should read the thread, regardless, in its entirety. You username did sound familiar, I have a ridiculous memory for the written word, so ran a quick search on IC and found a post from "mafia" to the thread uploaded in May:Most of the "pro" growers dont use hygrometers and probably dont even "cure" there weed.
Perhaps I can help, if you explain what's going on. I read your posts and have no clue as to the issue. Why two in one jar? What readings are you seeing and when? What is the product like? Some info would be nice. Pics would be great.I said its over rated in my opinion, i never said its total bs.
The numbers dont work out for me.
Ive even been using 2 meters in 1 jar to make sure.
