I've been on a search for a easier way to get a close look at trichomes. A jewelers loupe is cool but my hands shake to much to get a solid look nor does it take pics. A USB microscope is cool if I take a bud off to look at close but again my hand shakes to much to get great pics while looking...
Well fuck, I'm an idiot that I didn't catch that sooner! That's something I'll order in the next couple days. Looks like it'll work better than a jeweller's loupe as well. Thanks @DoobieDoobs !
I don’t think I saw it mentioned yet but it’s also valuable to observe the trichome heads from the side if possible rather then from the top.
When viewed from the top it can be easy to mistake a clear trichome for being cloudy. This happens when the bulbous head of the trichome magnifies the opaque stalk.
When viewed from the side it allows better light transmission through the trichome allowing you to see more accurately what color/condition the trichome is at.
It takes weeks for plants to mature not days so remember to have patients. Plants put on significant weight the last few weeks through internal density too.
eh i guess i should add im not super particular about harvest windows. a quick glance here a quick glance there and chop chop, i probably spend a total of a minute or two each grow looking at trichs lol
