How to turn 3OZ of Kief into something I can dab??

Hey there,

just picked up a large amount of kief and want to turn it into something I can dab, bho,iso,co2, any method is considered. Best way to do this? Easiest way to do this? How much should I yield? any tips or tricks? could use some expert advice, maybe a guide would be nice.

Is this something just for you to consume? If so, I suggest maybe going the rosin route. Basically it keeps it solvent free (So you don't have to use butane, iso, co2, etc) and it is very quick and easy. I would look it up on YouTube but basically you just take about .3 and wrap it in teabag or a 25u micron bubble screen and press it in between parchment paper using a hair straightener. You press for about 3-5 seconds (some do more, I sometimes do 5-7) all depending on your temps.

The thing with making bho and such, you need tools to extract and equipment as well to purge. But they are good options as well but like I said, with kief I'd go the rosin way. As far as yield, when I use low grade hash, hash I buy for $8-$10 a gram, I tend to get a 30% return.

Nice. Keif vapes very well in my experience. Try it. Just guessing but 3 oz of kief would probably last me 3 years, probably more vaping it. I would get tired of it after a while though. I like the idea of qwizo, but I have never extracted so I don't really know anything. Gonna look up that rosin idea too. But, don't have a hair straightener. Yea, if you extract it can make edibles. Anyway man, very nice.

Edit. Also, in the meantime you might consider taking a small amount and making cannabutter to make some cookies or brownies. If edibles are in your diet.

You can't dab keif? Have you tried squishing it together?

If you are starting with kif, I would suggest either making Rosin out of it using heat and pressure, or extracting with 190 proof ethanol. Because the chlorophyll is already taken out of the picture, you can extract at ambient temperatures and use long soaks.

Don't use these disgusting solvents, get yourself a flat iron, a pressing screen (like 5-10 bucks) and make a little tea bag, fill with the kief and press that shit into some Rosin, 7 star full melt solventless hash oil. This picture was made with some D grade bubble hash that I microplained into kief and pressed with my flat iron.

or get a glass rod and a hash bowl

also works on an enail if you bring up the temp a hair

The glass rod hash bowl idea is a good one! Those work better than nails for oil and wax too btw. Dont heat it with a torch though, it strips the silica and may lead to silicosis with long term inhalation.
If you've never done the old school method of making hash oil before (in the 70s my parents would put bud in a cider press and put that in a sauna, the temp would raise and the oils would seep out. lol, rosin might be the cool new name but its an old idea), be wary that the yields are lower than solvent methods and it is easy to singe your oil with the hair straightener. Ive had amazin rosin from experts but theres a learning curve. Really a vise in a temp controlled low heat source like a dehydrator will let you max yields by applying pressure for hours without worrying about singing.
Those hair straighteners work great as knife hit machines though. Esp the all ceramic ones.
ISO or ETOH work great with kief bc theres less chlorophyll and sugars for them to pull out than with bud, so its pretty easy to get a good extract with them. Butane will give the best yields and best tasting, of the easy to do at home with no equipment methods. Its as easy as doing an alcohol extraction with the jar method.

Just make rosin. Put the Kief in a 90u mesh tea bag. Press it with either a hair straightener, t shirt press, Arbor press , etc. . At 230 degrees and want excreted out is rosin. Aka solventless shatter.

Or get some dry sift screens. With some work you should be able to clean up that keif and isolate pure gland heads out of it.

Even if you did a quick clean up with the screen and then made rosin, I'm sure you would notice a difference in quality.

Put a pinch in a pipe and put a flame to it, assuming you mean by keif and not shake

Only thing I warn against this strategy is that if you have asthma or bad allergies dry sifting might not be the way to go. I have to wear a fuckin mask to dry sift without going into a full blown attack.

Rosin the keif up. You will have solventless dabs from that keif in no time.
