I Used a DC brushless fan I found in one of my old PC cases called the Coolermaster rated at 12 volts. The adaptor was 12v input and 9v output. Hooked the wires up in reverse the 1st time plugged it in...nothing. Switched the wires around & tried again...SUCCESS! Great thread

most pc fans are DC, either 5v or 12v.

hey cheers for the idea just set up a couple pc fans today 2, 80mm fans for a veg cab

i found that a 9 volt power supply was't enough to get the fans on full rpms so connected to a 14 volt

still for sale? also recommend a molex power bar or is using a mobo fine?

pc fans are loud and don't hold a good vacuum.

I just bought a few of these fans the other day at radio shack. The cheapest one was 14.95, then the more expensive one was upwards of 30. Then I purchased some DC chargers and wired them up. Chargers were $20. Hope this helps.
