the thermos method- take a thermos and you are supposed to drill 3 small holes in the lid, one for the tip of the butane can the other 2 for the gas to come out. the thermos "insulated" will stay cold enough that the butane can pool in the thermos. when you empty a can or 2 remove the lid and look inside at the clear liquid this is liquid butane "extremely explosive" now take your material and drop it in the thermos careful it will boil when you add the room temp material to -40 degree butane, now take a coffee filter or 3 and put it over the mouth with the lid off then flip upside down over a pyrex dish the preasure inside from the butane boiling will force the liquid butane through the filter with the oil. so for you instead of a pyrex get a buchner funnel....

you do know that it is not the funnel but the filter that is inside the funnel, most buchner funnels i have seen have huge holes and are meant for you to put a coffee filter in them. the buchner that i have has a 2 to 5 micron ceramic filter in it

Dose that style of buchner filter or funnel work better than the ones that use the coffee filters

damn Brett clean your shit I expected better
7:30 he starts talking, the temp he is talking about is -30 to -40 and he says the lowest it can go is -10, he even says that if you can blast at this low then its not necessarily needed to try this.

also his filter that he is using is about the same as coffee filters

just get your tubes really cold with dry ice and and freeze your butane then blast
that sounds alot easier then blasting into a container adding extract butane to flood it then taking take container and pouring the solution into the buchner funnel and then turn on your "electric pump" and suck the solution through the filter and into the flask..... oh and you have to do all of the according to Mr Brett maverick in between -30 to -40...

no one said it couldn't be done, just advise against it.

well we will see wat happens also thanks for your help and opinion on the matter dose seam a bit dangerous and extreme caution will b used if i do try.... kinda jus thinking run lower temps and jus keep doing wat iv been doin Mite help... wat temp range do you stay in ?

my tubes are at -20 when the last can makes it all the way through, the temps are below -40c my temp gun only goes down to that, but dry ice is -109f -74c I have a couple of deep freezers I pack with dry ice I just leave my butane in the freezer and the material in the tubes will sit for 12 to 24 hours then I blast. freezing tubes is a night and day diffrence

So freezing tubes helps freeze the chlorophyll and improves color im guessing? Also when purging off the butane is 90f to 100f ok or were do i need to be for this stage

Pack your tubes place in freezer with butane then after 12 to 24 hours, pull from freezer and blast into a pyrex. I have my pyrex in a 100F water bath and when the dish hits 100F I blast, when I am done I let it sit till it has reached 80F to 90F then I pull it and let it reach room temp then scrape and place it in the vac oven at 100F and purge. i also use 3 coffee filter and a rubber band.

Have you noticed a difference using more coffee filters? Or is it just a personal preference

Lol fersure well i appreciate all the help noticed a big difference already made sum amber sap with the low temp and then i got some shatter but it looked foamy? But shatters better than anything I've had before and it has good turps. I'm gonna try freezing my butane and my tubes next, I'll post a pic.

When i get my vac oven about how long should i bake it and around wat wat temp do ibake at? And how much vac pressure should i set it to ?
