How to vent my tent?

I have a 4x4 tent 28th 600watt hps w/bar wing reflector a 6in vortex fan and large can filter.
Here's the thing. I'm Going to be hooking up a cool tube after this grow is finished to get ready for summer.
Right now the tent is vented into the room that the tent is in 10x15.
I will be using a window AC to control heat but don't want to Run it like crazy.

My question is
Do I want to vent the tent completely out of the house?
Or into the room like it is now and let the AC keep it cool?
I'm thinking vent it out of the house but won't that be sucking my cool air out of the house also?
Do you just adjust the fan speed to where it's sucking very little or what?
I just need to know what is my best option here.

Thanks in advance guys. I've learned almost every thing I know about growing from these forums over the last couple years. I post very little but I research tons!
Lots of great info here!

I vent a 4x8 into the attic, that way the heat won't recirculate in the room overworking the AC.

I also vent a 4x4 into the 4x8 that vents into the attic. Daisy chain so to speak.

I use a fan speed controller to get the intake right.

If I was in your setup I'd do the same

Keep your extraction fan at what your CFM is in your tent/room, you wanna scrub the air *ideally* once per minute, if you're venting out of the house then yeah you're venting your air out of your house, if you're using your AC to cool the room then put your exhaust on the other end of your crop, so your "fresh air" blows through your crop and out the exhaust, same thing for if you're using an active intake fan, dial the speed down on your intake fan so you're creating a negative air pressure with your intake/exhaust, however, I've heard numerous times that police FLIR cameras can detect your exhaust fumes, if they fly by during the early morning hours or dead of winter and look through the FLIR, and see what looks like flames shooting out the side of your house (as your exhausted temps are much higher than the outside air) then they can be suspicious of you, however FLIR itself can't be used to investigate your property but can be used as a starting point to mess with you, if your not legal, so I'd suggest venting it out throughout your house if possible

Oh wow I've never heard of that. That s a little freaky!

I have a FLIR camera and checked. You can't see the heat coming out the soffit vents. (That was w 4 600w). One light would be no prob.

If you have it vented through a vent then they pick up the heat sig. also they'll need a warrant, so you probably already fucked up somewhere.

Yeah, it's pretty freaky. There are a few articles talking about it throughout Google and one poster on a forum specifically stated that a few times he had a police helicopter buzz him for about 15 minutes directly over his house right after he set up his new grow room, every day for about 3 or 4 days until he took his exhaust down and moved it to his attic, nothing happened afterwards. It must be prevelant enough that Gorilla grow tents have IR blocking roof shielding in some of their grow tents, which is kind of a scam honestly, IR throw FLIR is registered as heat, so as long as you're taking care of your Temps and not venting them like a goddamn volcano outside of your window 24/7 you shouldnt have to worry, it's the bigger ops that have those concerns

If you're venting directly from your exhaust, over your light, then right out a panel in your window yeah FLIR can pick it up, it's a small registered stream of heat (especially in the dead of winter, making it even more of a difference in temp) there's test videos all over the Internet, however if you're just venting from a filter directly out of the room then no it won't register, if you're dragging the scrubbed air over your light then directly out your window panel (provided there's colder air outside than what you're exhausting) it'll register, like a dryer vent registers when you're running your dryer

I'll be honest I was pretty convinced nobody gave a shit anymore.
I don't talk about it I don't sell it. I grow 2 plants at a time and smoke it that's it.
I don't really even worry about it and I've never really treated it as illegal anyways.
I've smoked daily for 22 years now

Yeah there's really no need to be worried if you're small scale, the worst thing that'll happen to you on a small scale (1-2 lights - 4 to 6 plants) is your neighbors and friends, those are the 2 big ones, FLIR/police are nothing, they've got bigger things to deal with

I live in a double wide. Was going to vent it thru the floor and under the house of I chose to go outside with the air.
After seeing these post now I might just vent it into the room and let the AC do it's thing.
I don't know. Freaking me out! Lol

Lol apologies for the worries, but as the one poster said FLIR really isn't a concern on the small scale, venting under your house would be fine, venting one to 2 lights out the window wouldn't even be bad, it's doubtful that'd be seen as suspicious especially if you're not exhausting 24/7. As long as your temps really aren't "fire/burning" temps being exhausted then there's really nothing to worry about, its the neighbors/people that come around that you'll have to worry about

That s kind of what i think. Smells never really a problem with the filter. I do 2 plants but I train to fill whole 4x4 area. Pretty much scrog but no screen. U don't need a screen to get that result but I don't argue I just do it.
I pull 16+ fairly easy off 2 plants and 600hps.
And I keep it so simple it's crazy. I See all these people putting in so much time and money and all I buy is a bucket of maxi bloom powder and a bottle of superthrive and I keep my ppms around 800-1000 and barely fool with the ph and it's usually around 6-6.5 and I have no problems. Hardly any work at all

That's really the game isn't it? Keep your costs down, work load low and higher yields/outcomes. I'm pretty much the same right now, 600w MH/HPS in a 4x4 tent as my flower room, 125w blue cfl as my veg light in a closet and am circulating between 4 and 6 at a time, on the road to upgrading my flower set up with a 5x10 tent and 2x PhytoMax-2 800's, then keep the 600w and the 4x4 tent for the veg

Venting it into the crawl space below the house is actually the best possible option imo. The crawl space will disperse the heat and FLIR would never pick it up.

That's the ticket right there, could probably get away with venting an entire 8x8 grow room down into a crawl space and have it not register at all, really as long as the heat isn't right up against a wall or anything it won't register, FLIR can't go through walls so your wall itself would have to be lit up for it to register, but if you're venting into a crawl space then yeah, bingo

Yoooo thanks so much guys just found this thread n i had same q's... im also in a double wide. Now i got it. Im gonna put ac in tha window, during winter ill intake cold air from outside and exhuast heat into vent under house. Then in summer i just reverse, intake trapped cold air from under house and exhuast outside. It gets hot during summer so f FLIR. + in winter we benefit from tha heated exhaust :D
