How to zoom in on trichs?

What is an inexpensive thing to use in order to get a better view of my trichs? I believe there has to be an alternative to the specific tool purchased at grow shops. Ideas would be great, Thanks.

Another round about way would be to see if your digital camera has a macro mode on it. If it does take a few macro pics at the highest quality and then view them on your PC, should be able to see fine.

I have the radio shack magnifier thing, less hassle then the whole camera ordeal.

thanks for all the input.
How much is the 420 scope compared to the RS version w/o the light?

I got the RS one with an LED light on it... It's perfect, only $11 plus the cost of batteries. Thanks for the advice.:peace:

You will wonder how you got along without one now you have one. I use my scope constantly it seems, at X60 it's good for checking leaves for nasty critters too,(I have found none yet, knock on wood), They are a nice tool, aren't they?

The 420 scope thing looks like they bought a RS one, changed to an LED and then want you to pay twice as much.

Definitely man. I kept looking at all the different buds that are lookin super juicy just to see how dense the trichomes are producing under mag. SO NICE!!

thanks again:peace:

I have a hard time holding the damn thing still enough to actually use it though.
I hear that! its seems like as soon as you see them you have to refocus cuz you or the plant moved.

still an amazing sight!!:peace:
Cut off a small piece of leafage from a bud, lay it flat on the table and put the scope over it. This makes focusing much easier. It took me a while to figure this out. The only problem I have now is the leaf sticks to the clear part at the bottom.

Yeah I kinda figured that, but there is no point for me to be pulling anything off yet. but in a couple weeks I will.

Just clip a little bit of leaf from the bud, it can be fairly small, you'll never notice at harvest. I found it almost impossible to focus at 100X unless I put the scope on a stable surface, every little move is magnified after all,,,
