Hi, If I plant a few hundred 2-3 week old plants in a remote area with plenty of slow release nutrients and everything to start off, can I come back 4-5 months later and expect to find some survived? Area in question is mountainous, plenty precipitation, plenty sun, Just north of the 49th parallel. Thanks (this is for 2010 season and strain in question is Himalayan Gold)

you're going to lose a lot to animals, weather, mold, etc but I'm sure you could expect a decent harvest. it is a plant.

I put mine out at 2 weeks this spring and 2 months later I found 2 of 3 still alive and just beginning to flower. They are going to look like crap, but I'm sure if they somehow get the proper amounts of water and sun they will survive. You only get what you put into the project. I used well prepared soil found a place where they would get sun. 4-5 months is a long time chief.....

We have seed producing abilities now, so maybe we could just plant hundreds/thousands of seeds and then go back and weed out males later. Methinks...

Depending on the climate, very well. I've seen feilds of it in Afghanistan, and it was probably originally planted there, but after people left it just kept going. That was one of the hardest things; to ride by an abandoned compound that was filled/surrounded by Afghan growing wild, and not say a word, or act like you care. It's amazing.
