How would you control guns?

How should we regulate guns?

Is it? It could have said 10,000 and it wouldn't have thought any different. My only thought was that you have more experience dealing with people on here than i do. And that you were nice enough of a person i could ask a off topic question and you wouldn't make a big deal out of it. I have to be more careful. Some people are touchy!!!
Yeah some are touchy. Some are internet bad asses. Some hang out cuz they have nothing better to do. For some, this is a place of solace. You never know what kind of personality is out there. So, I try to just treat everyone the same. That playing favorites thing never worked very well for me.

That makes me want to carry an unloaded weopon as a decoy.

The best "close range" shit is avoided by not letting anyone within 6 feet of you. It's a habit you adjust to by instinct. Would you stand closer than 6 feet to a bear? No. Instincts tell you that. You should expect everyone you encounter to be capable of trying some funny business. The best method of prevention is preparedness.
Prevention can only get you so far. Normal conversations occur well within arm's reach. Putting a bit of time into knife tactics or hand to hand for close range is not a bad idea, someone may eventually enter your bubble. Preparedness is being ready to fight to get to your gun, as well as using it, IMO.

i support that.

i gleaned it from posts on RIU. i've heard from 100-120, modified clips up to 300 rounds.
there are no 300 round "clips". once you step outside 100 or so rounds, belt feeding becomes more cost effective.

the most popular drum mag for the .223/5.56 is 50 rounds, with the largest available being 100 rounds.

further, as has been stated many times, "clips" are small metal objects that hold 5-10 rounds in what is known as "en bloc" (in a bunch) for easy handling, while magazines feed rounds to the rifle or pistol's action.

"clips" come in a 10 round size only for the 223, while the clips for my clip fed rifles are limited to 5 rounds, even for my enfeild with it's 10 round magazine.

it's always funny to see that those most in favour of limiting our rights are the ones who are LEAST informed about the very thing they wish to curtail. if you and diane feinstein put your heads together you might be able to figure out how to change the magazine on an ak47.

i value your thoughts on what guns should be banned as much as i do the insights of the illiterate on which books should be burned.

Hand to hand for me in that scenario. That way I can get to my firearm as quickly as possible once an opportunity presents itself.

Background check restrictions- Correct me if I'm wrong, but the recent mass murderers all had clean records and/or stole the guns, would this have prevented anything? If so, who would you prevent from having guns? Would it be felons, people on medications, women, or the dirty Mexicans? Tell me How we should discriminate.

Registration of all weapons - What would this accomplish? How would it be enforced? Who would have access to the listings? why?

Limiting types of weapons that can be owned by citizens - How would this be enforced? Would this be a voluntary turn in of all prohibited weapons or taking by force? How would these weapons be taken? How would we decide which weapons should be allowed and which should not? Should our government give all of the stolen weapons to the Mexican Drug Cartels like usual, or should we burn them in a giant fire and sing kumbayah while holding hands?

Limiting magazines - Should we limit the amount of rounds a magazine can hold? How many bullets should we be allowed to fire at once? Should there be a mandatory wait time before we can load the next clip? If so, how long should it be? Should different caliber weapons have different sizes of allowable clips? Should we confiscate all of the oversized clips? How will we get rid of the illegal clips? What should the punishment be for having an oversized clip?

Gun Free Zones - Where should we have these gun free zones? Why? Do gun free zones stop shootings? To make gun free zones effective, do we just need bigger signs, more of them, or both?

Should we make other weapons illegal too, or just guns? - Why or why not? Should there be a death limit to potentially illegal weapons? How do we determine what should be made illegal? Should we make box cutters illegal because of 9/11, or manure illegal because of Oklahoma City?

Limiting ammunition - Would this be effective? Would we prevent people from recycling their own ammunition? How would we prevent this? How would it be enforced? Would gun powder be illegal to purchase? Will we have ammo ration cards?

Other - Please explain

Poll is multiple choice, please explain how your selections will save lives.
I think people (politics) needs to get off my nuts about my guns. Other peoples lack of gun control should not affect me (the responsible gun owner).

Are you going to ask if we should ban cars too because of drunk drivers? It's not the weopon, it's the person.

Again..I agree with you! When i am done typing this I will give you a big "like" because I think you are right on! I also am man enough to admit when I am wrong. I basically just wanted to toss "biometrics" out there to see what people had to say, but me saying it's a step in the right direction was stupid. I shouldn't type shit like that when Im drunk and stoned as fuck. Sorry, lesson learned. I still never said half the stuff your throwing at me. Are you just dwelling on something that has a thousand obvious problems with it that most people already know, just for easy rep? I come from generations of proud, safe, law abiding gun owners, btw, and I have and will continue to pass it down to my children as long as I am capable. Just so my fellow gun owners on here know where I stand, after they read your shit. If there was a technology out there that allowed me to use on my firearms that would keep them out of unwanted hands that could possibly take someones life..i would use it. But there is not. So I will continue to be responsible and keep them locked in my safe that's bolted to a concrete floor. Not convenient or fast..but secure. Now stop coming at me with your bullshit and come up with something that most people don't already know. Should I throw something else out there that's easy to shred and makes you feel smart? You can even twist it and throw a cherry on top. Let me know...
you now allege you just tossed biometrics out there... amazing.

i asserted you declared three things, all of which are demonstrably false:

1) that you claimed "biometric gun locks" work.
2) that you "believe" the cops could turn off a gun like On-Star turns off the ignition circuit of a Lexus.
3) that you thought these things were "a step in the right direction"

since you claim to have said only half the things i asserted, which 1.5 of the above did you not say?

you then went on to assert that my disdain for your previous brainfart was based in a desire for "rep" (riiiight...) then proceed to lay out your bona fides for gun ownership, thus implying those not so blessed by their pedigree are not entitled to the rights enshrined in the bill of rights, and topped it off by claiming i mis-characterized your first foray into retarded commentary, with the goal of making myself feel smart.

imbeciles often feel that the world is "just being mean" when their stupidity is revealed.

i just hope you're pretty, as you wont be getting anywhere on your brains.

sorry sweetie.

If cops had a way to turn off guns it would not be long afterwards that the technology would be in the hands of criminals.

I just saw a thing about banning "bullet buttons." Never heard of it.

It looked like a mag eject where you could use a .223 to eject the mag. WHY?

I am failing to see the use or why to ban???

california requires all "bad guns" which look like the AR 15 to have a mag eject button which hides deep inside the rifle, making mag changes slower. the mag release hides at the bottom of a well that is JUST THE RIGHT SIZE for a .223 round to poke the mag release catch.

the "bullet button" is a little magnet attached to a metal or plastic rod that clicks onto the recessed magazine release and provides a removable raised "Button" which disables the "poke a stick in there to eject the mag" nonsense.

basically california wants to ban magnets and 1/2 inch metal rods, since, like a cut rate captain planet, when their two powers combine, they form... a solution to a bureaucracy's foolishness.

in places like california you need a non detachable magazine
Bullet buttons are jsut a way manufacturers get around that requirement
