How would you use Kingbrite UVA Strip for your grow?

It’s used to boost trichome production in the last couple weeks of flowering. I run mine for 90 minutes a day at “high noon“. Anymore than that and it tends to fry the plants.

interessting, wouldnt had thought 390-400 at just 8W have such a drastic effect.
but have to say it need quite some time to dial that in, havent developed a good feeling for it myself.
365nm is harder to the plants, the about 400 range isnt that hard, my feeling.

atm i use a 50/50 mix of 365 and 490-400nm at also about 8W on a suare meter for 7h a day end of flower.
used them most of the time for an hour at noon all the time, going higher end of flower.

HLG recommend using their UVA light while flowering for the whole 12 hour cycle. The diodes in their UVA bar are an equal mix of 365nm and 385nm.

i know a guy using the hlg bar and he didnt used it for 12h as he thinks its too much.
but he didnt went down to 90min or such.
idk what they really can take.

Yes. All 390-395nm. These are actually pretty close to the blue spectrum. Some may even call it near UV.

Without the 365nm, I was wondering if it's alright to use it for full cycle during flower? Every 30W strip gets it's own 4×4 area or so. Thats only around 0.5W per sf. Hard to imagine them causing much stress. But what do i know? Lol

These strips by Kingbrite has been around and mentioned for a while. I'm sure there are folks already using them. Just hope to get some feedback.

On another note, these (let's just call them 395nm, middle figure) diodes are built into many white light boards, along with Red and IR. I personally prefer them separate but these all in one boards were/are very popular.

I'm sure many of us here have purchased them. Some allow separate channel dimming, Kingbrite's version are not capable of that. Meaning, you turn them all on, or all off at any given time. Therefore, you'll not be able to customize the UVA hours given.

Does it mean that these all in one boards will fry plants? I doubt it, or we'll be seeing massive reports of it? I kinda feel that it's why they chose only 395nm instead of mixing it with 365nm. To allow full cycle use, acting a little as a blue supplement as well, to increase terps?

I have seen a comparison grow (i forgot where), its an Aussie light company who did grows using UVB and near UV (around 400nm++). Near UV ended up having higher THC than UVB. However, the test was done with 12 hour full cycle.

What have you guys experienced?

Let's not forget that 395nm is pretty much inside every piece of good Blurple grow lights in the past. Thats their UV.

Ppl still use them from start to finish with great results. Many just get white lights QB and supplement with their old purple for the blue, reds and UV.

Thoughts? Experiences?

NO.
They won't honor a warranty and cost to send back is insanely expensive.
I run the more well know USA brand, not a fan boy just choose to buy local with a warranty I might never need....
