- roots organics sample packets (3 of them, grow, blood, uprising)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-SOIL-BAT-GUANO-ALFALFA-BONE-BLOOD-FEATHER-KELP-MEAL-AZOMITE-HUMIC-ACID/132143328889?hash=item1ec45b2e79:g:HpUAAOSwSlBY3UoQ:rk:1:pf:0

As for liquid nutrients I have
-Biobizz grow, blood, bioheaven, root booster, top max
-Camg+ by general organics
-Pro-Tekt silica solution by dyna grow
-Unsulphured blackstrap molasses

so given that i have all this crap, what would you do? I usually will mix up some of these randomly and mix into the bottom third of my soil. I love any input on any of these products and how you'd use them, what i might need to add. I have had problems in my grows recently with powdery mildew, aphids, and whitefly. I dont know if these are dormant in my soil but this grow i want to do a lot more preventative spraying and maintanace.

Products for pests and fungus that i have
-green cure
-diatomacious earth
-neem oil
-captain jacks dead bug brew (with spinosad)
-Thuracide
-Sluggo plus (with spinosad)
-white and blue sticky traps

thanks for any input folks. Ill be logging this whole grow in my new journal with pictures coming soon on this link below

That super soil mixer you bought for ebay is designed for 10 bags of soil. So mix that with 10 bags and some earthworm castings and let it cook away for a month before you use it. The items in that bag need to break down in the soil before they are any good for the plants. I'd mix that happy frog with FFOF soil. You do not need to add more dolamite lime because the super soil mixer already has it. Add some good compost and pumice for a better mix.

You shouldn't need bottled nutes with this mix. Silica is ok and molasses is great for your microbes in your soil.

10 bags how many cu ft each? I see two sized i think off hand-- 2 cu ft which i have 5 bags of happy frog, but i see them at the store in 1.5 cu ft or 1.0 cu ft i forget as well.
thanks man i really want to get into the non bottled nutes growing. Ive been growing since high school Im 26 now and always feel jipped buying bottled nutes

if i get this super soil going fast i will be able to have it ready for transplant . i plan on going into a 2 gallon pot for my seedlings giving me plenty of time for the super soil to cook in time for transplant

then layer a base of super soil 1/4 bottom layer and the rest a mix of regular soil? not sure how this whole thing works its been a while since ive researched and i feel like im close with the amount of amendments ive got

any idea what to use the biobizz shizz for? (the dry bag of nutes the pre mix)

thanks!

ive been dumping all my old grows soil into a big box outside open to rain. Its all happy frog, if theres a good way to amend all that with what i have it is friggin great idea! I could measure the amount after i understand the ratio of how to do all this stuff. eventually id like to get into aact and vermicompsting and a bunch of other cool things like bim and rols ya know.. i just need to take my first step

If you have a whole lot of happy frog, then just use it. Add some quality compost/castings to it. One bag of soil is 1.5 cubic feet or a little more than 10 gallons of soil per bag. So according the instructions on the super soil mix, its good for 100 gallons of soil. Obviously if you don't need that much super soil, than just half or quarter the recipe. But if you happen to have 100 gallons of happy frog out side sitting in the rain, then just mix the whole super soil mix bag with the happy frog and let it cook away. Then you can use it as you need it. If its used soil like you say, you will want to use an enzyme tea to help break down all the old roots. As for the bottom 1/4 thing, just use the soil for the whole pot.

And i just double checked the instructions. It says the mix is good for 96 gallons of soil, not 100. That would be approx. 9 bags of soil (assuming they are 1.5 cubic feet.)

awesome dude. Solid ass info i wish i could +rep u :) miss those days. Im going through with that. i can just measure the amount of soil there and calculate the volume then add the amount of super soil mix to it and cool it an stuff. Excellent bro!!

as for long term storage, i would be interested in just making it all into a big batch of super soil and selling and using it as fast as i can (selling super soil to friends) but i could have it for over a year so is it worth cooking all at once or only in small batches?

ill look into the enzyme teas for breaking the roots down too, thats smart! It is cold here so i was hoping to do this process if it works in the cold weather and when its done the soil will just refreeze and ill keep it covered with a tarp or something

I reuse all my old soil for my outdoor grow. Haven't been brave enough to do it inside.
This last fall I harvested my outs and had some aphids, not an infestation but they were there. The only place to process was same building as indoor grow. I used sns 209 once or twice and they never took hold inside. I usually use neem or trifecta, but figured I'd take another step and throw sns209 in a root drench. Dodged a bullet on that one.

you don't need enzyme teas to break down roots. you need biology in the soil; things that eat organic matter (the roots) as a means of making a living. buy some quality compost and make a compost extract (simply just rinse the compost with filtered water and water your soil with said water to inoculate it).

this process does not work in the cold. soil life requires stable temperatures above 50 deg for it to be active. avoid freezing. freezing will rupture biological cells and decrease the life in your soil.
