doesn't it depend on the strain? Auto-flower / photo...I thought generally when it starts to pre-flower was the correct time

It's best to wait until the plant is mature (preflowers, alternating nodes) but you can force most plants into maturity at any time by switching to 12/12 (except autos). All plants mature differently some can take 6-8 weeks before they show preflowers, but indoors that might be too long for some. If you have the space and patience it's best to wait but if you are short on space just let them veg 2-3 weeks before the switch.

I Was Reading About this in my Bible the other day and What they said made sense.

Basically they said u should wait till your plant is ready. She will show u by pre-flowering

They also went on to say that If You Put a plant into flower before its ready it can scare the plant into thinking its going to miss its pollination stage and will start producing both organs to self propagate itself. ie a hermi.

Personally My Afganie x unknown bag seed cross-stavia (Was a good bushy one) Takes around 4-8 weeks to show me she is ready
My Current Harvest took 5 weeks for both plants to say hey im ready please switch me.

Also Keep in mind this is not for redendals or auto flowering specials, Also stavia will take abit longer then indica to start showing pre-flowers.

Ps. IMO and alot of other peoples, its better of to switch to flowering stage as soon as possible instead of waiting for her to grow up more. The reasoning is that u will get more bud off tons of small plants rather then trying to grow a few big ones.

If your gonna do it, do it right. Wait till she's ready to flower, not just because of yield, but also potency. An extra month in veg will get you a better plant to harvest then trying to flower something pre-mature. 8-10 weeks veg time for short day plants, long day plants have no veg time.

depends on their set up, you can go it when their 2 -3 weeks or wait 5 months? It depends on how many are going in and what set up your running.
