How's it look? Light too close?

Hey guys. Have a 4x4x7 tent with a 1000w MH bulb inside and a 759cfm carbon filter as well as centrifugal fan all ducted together through the lamp. Have to clip on fans making them dance but I think I might need more to take away the heat. Was wondering it 2 feet away is too close?

Those little ones are under a 1000w. That's over kill right now. Way over kill. Invest in some cfls to start them out. The money wasted on excess light could buy some cfls and save you money on electricity. When they're like a foot tall use the 1000w. But if you can't get any. Raise that light to like 4'. You could kill them babies in minutes if the fan died or something. That's what I'd do.

I put the ballast on 75 percent, and for the first two weeks they were all under 6 23w cfls! Also have the 750cfm fan as well as 3 oscillating in there, don't think it will be a problem

Well your all good then. Hah. Just watch the leaves. They'll tell you when they're hot. I'm just cautious cause stressing the lady's slows things down.

Def gonna want to use the MH bulb for veg and the HPS for flower. You're gonna wanna use grow big(the one with the fox on the cover) use half the recommended use to start off as it will say on the back how many tablespoons per gallon of water.

Yeah it's about 2 and a half feet above the plants, some are growing fast as shit and some are growing slowly but surely. Temp is around 78-80 most of the time during the day and drops down to 69-76 at night

The real issue here is heat and how close you can get before the heat affects the plant,
Is heat the issue with LED's..?
if so ...How close can you get before you get burnt leaves ...?

Heat is almost non existent with my leds right below the light. The internal fans keep them really cool. The power and spectrum of light however may be too intense if they are too close is the only worry I have. Light bleaching was a problem I had early on aout 4 weeks into veg with the 300 watters 8 inches above the plant. when I raised the lights to 2 feet away they stopped bleaching and grew like crazy but didn't stretch. They stayed tight at the nodes and the growth on the main stem and the topped branches got real thick.
