Hows it looking

So my plant is 6 weeks and I feel like its growing slow.It is about 8 to 10 inches tall it had 6 sets of fan leaves and a new one is already on its way.I trimmed 3 of the 6 due to the fact that they were turning brownish,they were not growing, and they wouldn't get any light because of the bigger fan leaves.I have it on a 16-8 cycle because its simply just looks to small for 12-12. What do you guys think? Should I give up on it or continue growing it? Also I'm still not sure what sex it is and please no bad comments I know I've made mistakes but cmom its my first time growing.

Hey bean, first off pics always help, second, its good you got them out of the 12 and 12 because that will cause them to flower as soon as they possibly can. If you just recently switched there light cycle, expect them to grow slow for a little while due to that fact alone. As for the browning of there leaves its most likely a deficiency of a certain nutrient, or heat stress. And anything you spent 6 weeks on is worth trying to save for atleast 2 weeks in my opinion, if the problem continues to get worse, and you get to that point where you wanna wipe the slate and start a new, then do so, but try to fix it till then, post pics so the community can identify the problem with your plant.

What size pot are they in? Have you transplanted recently? Whats your high and lows on temp and humidity across a 24hr cycle? Im on my first grow so i might mot b mich help but i have read a lot about problems that might occur. And a picture says a thousand words ya kno

What kind of light, how far away, and how much are you using?
Feeding?
Soil?
Pot size?
Temps?
