Hpa

Back to the op's question Hp growing is just far too complicated , way too expensive , way too touchy , too many components in the system , too dependant on 100% perfect system operation , most off all the plants are at risk of quick death if there is a system failure , most experienced hydroponic growers end up with their own customized style that eleminates problems , I myself run a modified system that incoporates flood & drain , DWC & HPA , this allows me to have a total pump failure or mister clogs with zero ill effects on the plants for 5 or 6 days , straight HPA is an over built & over complicated system for the benifits offered .
That pretty much sums it up. I've taken 2 steps back & have settled on med pressure aero, with top feed as a redundancy. And dwc, when the roots drop past 30" or so. Results are insane. Hey pan, I've been subtly asking for my thread to be moved into the general hydro/aero section, to no avail. Being a mod, can you make that happen for me. This sub-forum has been pretty dead, and I didn't mean to post here.

Any member including myself who has the title of " Moderator " under their username has been demoted & stripped of access to staff forums & moderation tools , the New age mods have a white ribbon that says Staff Member under their username , when the site crashed here a few months back most mods were given the boot when the site came back online , if i still had access to my mod cp in hydroponics i'd help you out but im powerless to help .

Potroast is pretty much out of the picture & Sunni appears to be lead mod , try asking Sunni & see if she will hook you up .

wow. I have been piecing together the components for a hpa. I decided to steer away from any dwc to attempt to reap the benefits of a hpa.

Hpa has to many draw backs I also went 2 steps back and could not be happier. Thing to keep in mind is it's not about micron size it's about oxygen saturation in your spray.

Hey, what I'm confused about is if it's so inefficient why is NASA putting so much money into it? And how come it works so well for them? Having to use 70% less water and 60% less nutes sounds like a great trade. I understand a novice would have problems. But if you had an understanding of the set up, wouldn't it's efficiency outweigh the cons of clogging? And g love you say was discredited. I can't say I ever read his work, But what about pod racer back in '07 talking about TAG? He had data and facts back then that would have only grown more numerous with people and companies willing to try it over these 7 years right? Bc one person is discredited for backing a losing company it all becomes a uncredited. That doesn't seem right to me. I am attempting to learn more about it b4 I choose if it's right for me. Actually I'm just trying to build it bc I'm a diy freak when it comes to building systems. I've made quite a few and this was my next endeavor. But if you have proof it's a waste I won't waste my time. But to say just bc one person sucked that that style does too is a little rash isn't it?

The HPA thing comes in waves. I dicked around with it for awhile, and still want to experiment with it, but if you're looking for ridiculous growth with relative ease, a hybrid system is the way to go Or LPA. Or MPA...

NASA never ever did HPA why would they. They did do a micro grow about the size of a shoe box that's it and whole system fit in the little box. They weigh everything that goes in space down to the gram. Prove me wrong show me proof....it's a myth just like government made g13. Think about it zero gravity and spraying water with electronics.http://www.vox.com/2014/6/3/5772628/nasa-is-about-to-harvest-lettuce-on-the-international-space-station

Well ok they might not be doing it nasa themselves. But they do sponsor a company who's job it is to grow and study that style. http://www.agrihouse.com/ but in your defense the whole point of it is to feed astronauts for longer space travel trips. It's not built for massive growing plants mostly small potatoes and micro greens. But what would you need to see as proof that it's a truly effective growth style?

If you would do a little more research you would have discovered they helped develop the organic fertilizer that NASA used to impregnate the sponges that they grow in.

If I would have yes. But that's what I have you for. To tell people in your condescending way that your always right. But I'm sure you always are. So if you don't mind where did you get all your knowledge from in the matter? Did I just miss something on their page? Have you used aeroponics? You seem to be the encyclopedia of all negative things on aeroponics. So you must have used it in a run against a dwc or nft or drip and pulled numbers saying that aero's growth is far slower, the water usage is far worse for its final weighed outcome being far less while it's quality is far below other hydro options. I mean you have done that right? Because you seem to know a lot man.

Apologize about being a negative really not my intension at all. Just tired of all the bull shit that floats around about aero 98 percent you read on forums is incorrect. To answer your question been there done that. And still do aero

So then your point is. It has it's ups and downs it's just a matter of simplicity and effectiveness. It's far easier to do a dwc that has the same results. Why mess with something that complicates everything.
But if that is your intention, know that I personal am just looking to have the knowledge and craftsmanship to build a working aero system. Not for it's amazing claims. But bc it challenges me. Which I could expect someone who doesn't like it but still uses it, to agree.

I really want you to succeed in your adventure. You just won't get good advice on a pot forum visit commercial green house forums see how they grow the fruits and vegetables that you put on your plate. Read some botany thesis papers from professors. There is no mystical magical aero system they all have there faults. Some days a bucket of dirt looks dam good lol.
