for flowering nothing can beat a HPS light and flowering is when it really matters for your light, ill give you the same advice i give everyone who has a light question go with HPS :) you wont regret it

Use the hps! and cfls for side light i got 200 watts of cfl with my 400 watt hps so i would say both or just hps penetrates alot deeper then cfl

If it's 1 or the other the HPS is far and away the best grow light available. 55,000 lumens from a 400 watt light in a red spectrum 2000k-2700k. Do an online comparison. CFL's are for people that need small lights for tight spaces or have heat issues or like Stoner said to supplemnt an HID. Anyone that can use an HPS and doesn't is crazy.

two at most i would say or one really good plan!. thats why i use cfls as side light helps alot with lower bud growth.

I disagree!! In a 12/12 from grow I think you could go 5 square feet at 1 plant per foot (5 plants) and do great with a 150. That will give you 30 watts a foot which is plenty of light to grow nice plants.

my 400 hps came with instructions that it only goes up to 5x5 and i only have 4 onder mine but you you can do it and have good results more power to ya but in my 4x4x 6 grow room i still wanna get another 400 hps but i also keep my lights 6 inches away from my plants and doesnt give much room for the light to spread out, but for plants under a 150 more power to ya bro. but like my plants big, bigger planst more bud for me!

I am definately not saying that more light is not better. I am just saying that a 150 HPS will cover 5 square feet with great results. I personally have 8 square feet and run 400 watts.

sorry but a 150 is barely good for a 2x2 bro i wouldnt push pass that for sure but whatever works for ya i guess i dont push my 400s pass 30x30 but i like dense drippy nuggs not airy light nugs no disrespect i dont know what your pulling but that just my 2 cents

it goes like this as far as foot prints 150 is 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 at most 250 is 2 1/2x 2 1/2 at most 400 3 1/2 x same 600 5x5 1000 8x8
