150w hps for the whole grow for 2 plants. what does everyone think? an how close should i have it to the light so i don't stretch it, i'd really like to keep her short an bush like.
my plants are only 2 weeks old still trim the top? they just got 2 fans leavesHPS works fine for a whole grow. Keep the light as close as possible without burning them. Hold your hand at plant height, if it's too hot for our hand it's too close.
Clip off the main growing tip and the plant will be shorter and bushier.
im having issues with my night temp, i think is getting to around 60 something don't have a wireless temp. so i don't really knowIm also running a 150 HPS but I use spiral florencents for veg. To me the florencents work fine for veg I have never had a problem with them Id rather use them cause I like running em 18-20 hours a day instead of running my HPS which gets hotter and draws more energy I save it for the 12/12.
i do have the light i used it for my other 2 but i was thinking about putting up 4 to 6 spirals the 6500k daylight ones.i'd go for summut a little bigger if i were you, i've just grown 2 bubblicious with a 400w hps all the way through and it was quality but i think i would have struggled with a 150... only a thought.
if you dont already have the light i would spend the extra cuz you will only want to upgrade as time goes on anyway. i'm already thinkin of adding a 600 for future grows.
ah good point glad you said something about that. here i would have been adding lights and lights that wouldn't have done anything... so up the size in the hps? should be fine with the spirals?haha i got a 400w hps floodlight and modified it... cost me £50 (UK) not sure what that is in $$ but its cheap.
as far as i'm aware you can add up wattage but not lumens so just take that into account when choosing lights.
