HPS Ballast and etc.

So I purchased my 400w HPS light from menards the other day and now I'm finding myself confused with the rest of the work ahead of me.

First, am I going to need a 400w ballast and 120V? Also what kind of socket does the bulb go into? Im completely new to HPS and need some help!

No I'm confused you bought a 400 w hps light or you bought a 400 w hps bulb?

i bought the bulb. I found out I need a ANSI Ballast S51...now where can I buy one of these?

I think I found what your looking for, http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/hps-ballast-kits-c-357_251.html. They have kits where you can build your own ballast or you can but one. You'll probably need one of these too if you bulid your own, http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/grow-light-components-c-124.html. Thats the socket for the bulb!

Yup, that looks perfect but you may want to buy the bulb too just b/c there made for plants. Unless the bulb you bought already has the right spectrum. Not saying that you have too but it may be better. No, not yet at least. Im going to buy from there when i get my next setup, they seem to be the cheapest for what you get.

That one you picked comes with the bulb so you should be all set.
