I recently picked up a pulse start 150W metal halide ballast, though finding a bulb cheap and local is proving difficult. I did notice some 150W HPS bulbs at the local ReStore that appeared to be new in box and only $5, and was wondering if I could run this on the pulse start MH ballast safely.
From everything I have read the only difference between HPS and MH is the ignitor, but google and many other searches have not turned up an answer for me.
Please keep in mind I have built my grow from scavenged and repurposed items;cost is my limiting factor.
