hps for veg?

not even close to the enough amount of watts man. for that kinda grow i dont think so. youll need 3 times that amount for that amount of plants. once you start veg your plants wont make it very far no matter how close you drop your lights.

I'll tell you whats wrong with miracle grow. Stick your head in the bag and take a big whiff. That chemical smell... that's exactly what your weed is going to taste like. This is experience talking. Compare that to Fox Farms or any other ORGANIC alternative...well there is no comparison. That's why experienced growers are going to tell you there's a difference. Because there is.

sorry, didnt see the organic part. Should be fine then, although I would still take Foxfarms over Miracle Grow. Foxfarms just smells like walking through a forest on a rainy day. Its wonderful. Anywho, as far as the lights, do you not have your 400 watt yet or are you just wanting to start with floros?

40 watt floro are enuf for 1 plant. you need two for each plant when you want to flower to get a decent enuff yeild you would have to add more lights. thats just too much lights dont you think?

well im getting it next week, when i get paid, so they would on be under this flour for 1 week at MOST, i mean i can easily go to the store and buy another set if it will help, i dont mind i just askin if it will do okay for a week.

yeah it can sprout your seedlings i told you that.but you can pass with adding another 2 more sets and vegging with those and use your 400 to flower,me im using my 400 all the way.

k well tomorro il go grab another set, i was thinkin same thing, ya fur sure i will go hps all the way once it comes in, veg with hps is better than veg wit T12s is wat i hear

Has anyone had luck vegging with 1000w hps?? Ihave been vegging my seedlings since 1 week old with 1000w hps . Now into the third week , I've had some problems with heat and probably some nute burn. Did'nt realize i should'nt add nutes to seedlings ,even though I used only 1/4 of the recommended amount. I used some superthrive and just gonna use water for now till things green up some.Could someone tell me when to add nutes to these plants.

flows are better for veg because 1 they are also good for clones and 2 you can get them in 4 foot length and such and use few of them and still get good veg growth but for flowering you want to go with atleast CFLs to get a decent result

For the first week i used 4 foot floros ,for my seedlings and it strecthed the f**k out of them.They were like 3 inches tall. So switched them to the hps.no more streching:wall:

Let the plants get 5 or 6 nodes of growth in before giving nutes, depending on the soil you are using it might not need any nutes.

HPS will still out veg those fluoros any day of the year. They don't make a Fluoro that is anywhere as efficient or as powerful as HPS.

I know that , I've done alot of reserch and the best light list goes kinda like this

1 - HPS
2 - T8 (is that correct?)
3 - CFLs
4 - Flors
