Aw man you'll never break two pounds. Not with legit GSC.... unless you know my secret! The light, mind you, I'm very impressed by. Great workmanship man, that thing will crush a thowie, and if it doesn't, I can tell you from experience, take the lenses off and either run them bare or with a reflector. You really don't have to worry much about intensity on a quantum meter spread, as long as you're flooding your space with photons and encapsulating them, which your tent will do quite nicely. Alllllright, now the cookie secret. You ready? About 4 weeks into flower, right before they start to bulk, cut WAY back on the CalMag or if you're using Jack's 3-2-1 like most of us disciples, skip or skimp on the epsom salt. For some reason, cookie strains' iconic thumbnail bud structure is determinate on a partial magnesium lockout late in flower. This really will put the bulk back into the nugs and you can expect more of the parental GDP structure. Basically turning GSC into a sherbet cut, with about a 20% accompanying yield hike over unmitigated calmag use. It's night and day man, and less work for a hard working sombitch like yourself, you handsome light building sombitch. Merry Christmas homie, you got this shit sleepwalkin.

And another thing most people don't consider in the cost calculus, the mini-split. I have 20 cxb3070s running at 1400mA with active cooling and my drivers located outside my tent and nothing but a 6 inch vortex half-cocked exhausting into the same room as the intake. In a 4*8, never broken 77 degrees and 50% humidity with my heat running full tilt all winter in a freakin tent. My panel is also dimmed in phases by a Storm Controller but only 10% on one string at a time (totally recommend picking one up here if you're using B series HLG drivers with the 10V control leg: http://www.rapidled.com/coralux-storm-led-controller-with-10v-analog-converter/). And what is a cheap mini split? Like a cold $1000 uninstalled for a 3/4 ton unit that you'd absolutely need if not for the fact that my 60% efficient 1000 watts is doing the job of 2 30% efficient 1000w hoods with 50% less heat dissipation. I built my panel for $1300 and 2g/w has gone down twice now without a hitch or a CO2 burner, and will for the next 10 freakin years before these slump and I have to swap some chips. So one gavita: $475w/bulb x2 +$1000 for the minisplit, then power for the minisplit on top of another KW... well it doesn't take a genius. HPS is already dead, currently my company is converting Green City Growers Cooperative (indoor hydro lettuce, about $1M/year in revenue) to COBs. Commercial agro's waking up with the rest of us, but there will always be Luddites and naysayers. But hell man, let them eat cake, they'll flex a pretty wet Benz, we'll flex a far wetter Aston.
Thanks for that awesome tidbit about the GSC. All around A+ post.

Experimenting with foliar spraying grow more bio cozyme which I've heard slows stretch. Which will help with this stretchy og phenotype. I'll see how well it works.
Well they are at the end of week three and I can definitely see alot less stretch from my former grows with this strain. It kept the stretch down really nicely. I got a bunch of hedges in my room and I'm pretty happy with it.

Day 25 Flower update: The GSC stretched much more then my HG kush which is unusual. Had some deficiency with the HG before flowering that i cleared up finally just a few days before they needed to be flipped. All good though everything is looking real nice as of right now. Best production so far this early thats for sure. They are already showing some frost on the fan leaves which doesn't usually happen this early. The smell is incredible. Wish i could have smel-o-vision. Anyway here are some pics of the HPS Killa tent.Enjoy!

Lol pretty dialed right now. It's cool outside so I'm trying to keep it warm rather then cool it off. So far so good. Would like to have a c02 Gen but using the bags until I can afford the Gen etc. Even if ibdontnI don't spank a thouie if I spank a 600w hps I'll be happy lol. Well see what happens. My cut of gsc isn't the greatest yielder either so might not be the biggest yield but I can get usually a pound off a 600w hps with her so well see. Thanks for the vote of confidence hahaha
I got confidence in ya haha.....these lights kick so much ass you will beat a 600w hps without blinking but 1000w would be cool. Im running 12 cxb3590's @1.4a max, curently dimmed for veg....all in a 4x4....math says more light intensity than a 1000w hps in the same space.....never used a 1000w hps but I have 2-600w hps 4x4 tents to compare ....will see in a few months, once i get to flower Ill prob start a thread lol.....I did notice its very easy to be too close with these cobs, soon as I raised em up and dimmed, I got lots of growth over night and pigment correction in one day lol.

I feel like you cant utilize the full 600w in a 4x4 unless its peak flower, but we will see.
I vegged my 5x5 with 200w. Had really nice growth for veg. Especially imo with a mostly red Color. For flower it's running at 600w and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm running lenses though with the light up a little higher. My next run I think I will take the lenses off and lower them closer to the canopy and see how it compares. Also for my dim circuit I want to put in a switch so I can get the little extra current out of the drivers for peak bloom. I also want to add some 5000k cobs in between my bars add around 300w of a higher Kelvin light for veg and maybe the last couple weeks of bloom. Very exciting times

Yes they are exciting times! Ive just been using my leds for veg. I have 3-4x4 tents 2 of them are 600w hps and one is 600w cxb3590, then I have 3- 2.x2.5 one is running 200w cxb3590 and the other two are crap leds, but Im building more 200w lights for them. I havent gotten a chance to flower under it yet As its not cost effective vegging under hps, but I am veggin for a week with hps to fill the scrog before flower. Now my hps tents are full Ill be flowering with the leds in a couple weeks :P I am noticing a bit faster growth under the hps in veg when I switched em from the led to hps, I know thats not the usual case, thinking my light intensity with the cobs is still a bit high for veg, dimmed and raised a bit more so we will see.

I haven't moved my lights at all this grow. I had them dimmed at like 3ft for veg and let them grow into the lights so to speak. Now their within 18 inches. I turned mine up a little every week or so until I was maxed out about the second week of flower. And on pretty happy with it so far. Much faster veg for me then mh. Not as dense but still better then hps imo.

Day 33 a ittle update: everything is going well no problems what so ever. Its cold out right now and temps are on the low side but still doesnt seem to be slowing them. temps are 74 lights on 65 lights off. Im looking for the blueish purple i get with temps this low on this cut. Here are the pics taken today. Frosty as ive seen. Smaller size then im used to but also much denser. SUPER DENSE compared to other runs. VERY happy so far with the performance of the light. Keeping up to a thouie IMO

Nice work, now here's my 2 cents and that's all it's worth, even if the light doesn't beat the 1000 hps you still have saved yourself a considerable amount of money in electricity, where I live it probably comes to about 400 bucks a grow,so you figure what 3 grows for a year maybe 4,you add it up and that's a nice vacation to take some of those buds on and have a good time because that's really what it's all about isn't it?

Getgrowingson what type of fans are you using to cool the lights?

Thanks In Advance.
Noctua 140mm fans. Their dustproof and water resistant I believe. Awesome fans. Come with all the connections to daisy chain them together as well. Not cheap but nothing good is cheap these days.

amen brotha. People already asking me to build them lights. Hydroshop wants me to open my own company and go in business with him. Which im half tempted to do. Says if i pull a p and a half off this run hes all in and will invest 50k to get everything going. Not sure if thats something i want to do or not right now. Either way im pumped with how its going.

By any chance do you know the model of the fans that you are using? there are different Product Dimensions on the 140mm.

Thanks In Advance.
