HPS Lighting Questions

I was planning on purchasing a 600 watt HPS light to grow with. I was first wondering if it was possible to veg and flower with this light only, or would it be better with two different lights? Is it best to buy a pre fab system w/ the ballast and light and reflector included or is there a cheaper way to do this?
From what Ive seen they are very expensive. Any help would be appreciated.

I've vegged and bloomed with hps before, it worked fine... however, ideally you want to veg under blue light, mh. I'm not sure if there is a cheaper way to put together your own, but you should be able to get a good setup for like $300, spendy but worth it:mrgreen:
