HPS or an HPS and MH combo

I wass looking to buy a new light and I saw an HPS system that was about $250 for a 400W system. But then I saw another 400W system that had an HPS and an MH bulb for veg and flower stage. The Combo ones was about $270 but it only produced 50,000 lumens while the single HPS system produced 91,000 lumens and for anothrer $100 I could add an Electronic Ballast and it would save about 20% energy and would allow me to use an MH bulb. I cant decide which one to buy and if I should add the Electronic Ballast

i just bought 2 1000w lumateks that you can switch between the two. but, you don't have to go that route from what the guy at the dro store was telling me. you can get the mh setup and just buy a conversion bulb when your ready to flower. conversions bulbs are made to work in either setup. to be more clear you can buy a hps conversion bulb that works with a mh ballast and vice versa.

Would the 400W cover a small grow space.

yes, i don't think you need that much light though, if your doing a small grow. a 400w should be sufficient.

I dunno. I like having 2 rooms rolling, one for veg and the other for flowering. You an veg quite well with floros. With a single light its seed to harvest, repeat. (also adds in the male factor)

A veg room with floros growing clones, and a flowering room make the budz is the way to go IMOHO.

Even if you SOG, you need a small area for the momma and clones to root.
