Ohh please, what reputations I hate to be an asshole that just comes out and sais this , but here it is anyway: 1) we are all anonimous here so what reputation? 2) Its a war on drugs out there people in case you didn't notice ,so why not use your enemy's assets to keep growing?3) I didnt grow enough balls to steal a city light till I was 20.As far as the mechanics of this thing, most of the streetlights have all you need right in the lighthead assemby, the part on top of the post, you will need an adjustible wrench and or a ratchet and a set of sockets (anywhere from 3/8 to 3/4) also you will need a pair of INSULATED wire cutters...the rest you will have to judge by the location/situation.Dont wory about the light sensor, it is easily bypassed, as far as the heat for the ballast its true, but that problem is easily solved by uscrewing the actual light socket out of the lighthead assembly and making it remote with jumper wires (simply splice in long pieces of wire , use a decent guage wire, always thicker/never smaller), finally, you will have to install a 110 plug that you will plug into the wall, you are on your own my friend cos lights do defer, there is usually a wiaring diagram right on the lighthead (if you cant figure it out, stop immideatly cos you obviously not qualified to do this), when you test your light make sure you use a socket with a good breaker,and vouala, you have a grow light! A couple of things to remember, make sure that cutting wires is the last thing you do, cos working around live power is no fun, make sure that the post ends of the cut wires do not touch ANYTHING when you are done, and above all, YOU DIDNT HEAR ABOUT IT HERE AND YOU DIDNT HEAR ABOUT IT FROM ME! Stealing lights is a risky buisness and in the long run, who wants to do 3 to 5 in the cell over a $500 light? As I got older, I gave it up, the risk just doesnt justify the means...If I were you I would just save up and buy one...also most street lights are only 250W , they get the job done but 1000W light is where its at!My advise to you DONT DO IT...PS scout the area and the human/vehicle traffic for like a week befoure you do the job if you absolutely HAVE TO steal...
