I follow a lot of cases all over the u.s. there is one in particular I think is kind of crazy I recently saw. There is this guy who is a known drug dealer and has been for years by the cops. Him and his brother both. (They seem to consider them both kingpins) Recently something weird happened.. someone called in reporting he was holding a family hostage. Turns out he didn't have any guns, but they did find 19 Lbs and a notebook with records of illegal transactions in an illegal state. They arrested him then let him bond out on a 100k bond (keep in mind he's on probation with a 10 year back up & his 3rd strike)
I thought it was weird they let him bond out. Then a month later, he beat the case and got all charges dropped. Not even like he blamed it on someone else, no one got charges.
Think he was already being watched and they are just trying to gather more info on him to really lock him away before everything becomes federally legal? I thought this was a very interesting case and a very strange one
What are your all's thoughts?

Is he in cali? The only thing that would lead up to a felony is selling to a minor and making wax. Everything ealse is misdemeanor. If he is in a illegal state mabe he is a snitch lol.

Maybe I misunderstood, but it sounds like they entered his house and searched it under false pretenses... I understand they found something after, but since it had NOTHING to do with why they claimed to be entering the house, I could see even a moderate Lawyer having a fair chance at success.. Sounds like a dangerous and slippery slope, if cops could just fake a “hostage situation” they could search ANY HOUSE they had suspicion about.

Again, I know next to nothing about the case you are discussing, but it does sound like they gathered evidence under false or incorrect pretense.

Probably hired a good attorney and had the case dismissed since they had no search warrant.
