Humboldt Seed Company (HSC) Thread

As I complained before about guzzlers (popped another 20 got 1 and still pissed about it) I thought I would sing some praise..

I have some blueberry muffin and my word these plants are a pleasure to grow and have very stable genetics. They are also very easy to clone. I am at the start of week 4 so I'm not out of the woods yet but they just grew so quick I had to get another tent to house 2 of them. I have taken clones from the strongest 3 out of 20 plants so fingers crossed I get a winner.

I'll update when they come down.
Finishing up the Hellas. 60 days/done. Got a good look with 2 random seeds and like what I see. Will definitely run this outdoors this Summer.
Hey all. I wrote the above statement last Spring. Sadly...as I tried to pop more Hellas I came up exactly like @FatBoyVik . The first 2 seeds (pictured previously in this thread) were runty but pulled out. Small plants with nice buds...and I LOVED the smoke. Very terpy/nice all the way through a joint. As I tried to pop the rest of the pack for my Summer outdoor grow...things went South. Every one of them were duds. 2 of 11 isn't good enough here. Contacted HSC. They offered to replace the pack and ...while I really wasn't gonna buy anymore seeds, I decided that with the shitty HJ germ I'd get Stoopid Fruits to replace the Hella and see if they performed better. I then bought a 5 pack of Hellas to enclose with the replacement pack cus...damn...it was so fucking nice.

Feeling very uncertain and seeing the Spring roll by with no real plants in place...I decided that I'd pop em all. Of that pop...I got 1 Hella and 2 Stoopids....one of which crapped out at 2 weeks or so.

Like FatboyVik....I don't wanna be a complete downer here. While the lone Halla did show FASCIATION on the main stem...I cut it off and the remaining 3 stems are packed with decent bud that is ready to come down. Basically...I got my $120 back but it was a lot of work and disappointment to get there. Shouldn't be that way. I WAS going to do an S-1 of them so I could avoid the shitty germs and high seed costs but with the fasciation...nope.

The lone Stoopid is also flowering. It really didn't shine...but it does have 1/2 size hard, stanky buds. I'm letting it go cus it did start flower late....and again...I'll get my $120 value from the one plant...but like the HJ's...I feel like I lost out on a lot of buds overall. I also had to jump fast and BUY clones to have enough plants to make do....so it was a double hit. HSC wasn't was accomodating the 2nd time....sending me a cut/paste HOW TO pop seed. Fuckin A...I've been growing for 35 years....probably as long as some of them....so that shit is uncalled for. How about a manual of "How to Breed SEEDS". LOL

I may still buy another pack...cus dammit...I wanna S-1 it and make a few thousand seeds to share....LOL.

thanks for hangin through the long winded rant......

That's a shame buddy it's a bummer when you get your hopes up for a grow and get excited popping the seeds. I don't know about you but I watch them every few hours like a geek if I'm home and it's crazy thinking your sold some sub par stuff when there is so many good strains out there.

It's abit of a piss take they just say to review how you pop seeds rather than take responsibility.. . I popped my guzzlerz next to the blueberry muffins and had no issues with the other strain with the same method so it has to be the guzzlerz especially seeing others have had this issue. I also did the same with jelly doughnutz and blueberry pancakes as the pancakes were all fucked up and runty or duds but the JD where beautiful and all popped and looked amazing so I ditched the pancakes and took it as a sign.

Don't worry though, plenty of good strains ect we just gota be cautious and wait for more grow reports.

Looks really nice, any nanners? If not I think you have a winner. That is a beast of a structure
No nanners nothing. I grew it indoors as well, no problems. Now I did have previous problems with other strains from HSC but they gave me a full refund on my order. It was fast and easy but I think cause I ordered from their website. I wont ever buy from them again.

Did you keep a cutting? @gooshpoo

I have a keeper from a $2 NASC pack titled "Nutter Budder x Pistacio," which HSC calls Mixed Nutz now. Those two plants from that pack I grew were stunning, crazy trichome coverage, insane sweet tart terps. A few who got a sample begged me to save it and grow it again because as they said- it was the strongest weed they have ever experienced in their entire lives.
I had a mixed nuts w some candy to it but most have been loud gas, good potency. How'd they yield for u? Mine tended to be lower yield, only reason I haven't kept one. Definitely a crowd pleaser though.

I only ran 2 seeds, both were overvegged in their own earthboxes to fill a 4x4 ft tent. It was winter, my RO unit broke down, so I ran the entire run at like 40% RH the entire time. They were stiff and purple stemmed most of the time. Got down to 52°F during late flower as well one night.

Their yield was what I would consider on the medium-low side. They were smaller nugs, but they were so dense. 1 bud would last bowls.

My fear is that the expression from pheno #2, the keeper I have, was largely the result of the insane low humidity environment I ran them in. I have one outside and it's nothing like what I ran last year indoors.

Thought I would share my Blueberry muffin 5 weeks in. Already got me super exited to harvest. Such a gem and doesn't complain about any issues. Stinks as soon as I open the tent already! This one has thoes lovely vibrant orange hairs already which is earlier than the others. She does have a very slight twist in the leaves but never slowed down in growth.

You got a good pheno; I had an all purple pheno - purple from day 1 of flower lol....it had a nice raspberry-blueberry flavor (no muffin at all)....but had no potency.....still wish I was able to keep her for crosses.....my experience with it is the green phenos with streaks of blue/purple are the potent phenos in the line.....if somebody doesn't beat me to it; I'd love to cross it to a Haze and get that blueberry muffin haze flavor back.

Popped Blue muffin and gelato from Humboldt, gotta say I wasn’t too impressed with their germ rate 4/10 blue and 6/10 gel.
Overall yield was average at best and the blue was susceptible to mold in New England…Gelato was short and stout and had better yield, I wouldn’t get them again…they sent me some vanilla, lemon diesel and strawberry kush to comp for my trouble…I’m outdoors so I’m waiting until next season
