Could a line Humidstat or Thermostat (115v for base heaters or AC units) be ran to a regular outlet and mounted inside of something to resemble a climate controller?
Like this but with a 115v Thermostat/humidistat instead. Getting rid of the Relay and the seperate power transformer.

Example. Use an cut 3 wire extension cord run the ground wire to the outlet. Then the neutral and hot wire to the thermostat, and then run the hot and neutral to the outlet to make it switched outlet controlled by the humidi/thermostat.
