Humidity help

hello there, i'm growing some weed and i believe it's too dry in our tent. the leaves are all quite thin and a bit... idk kinda fuzzy feeling. anyhow, i am almost certain it is a problem because of the low humidity; it's winter and dry as balls here.

i bought a humidifier yesterday and after moving about the room, we finally decided to stick it in the tent. well, we can't get the humidity above ~48%. meh. the humidifier works fine but there is just so much air moving through the tent it's pretty much impossible to get it above 50%... unless it's like 80%. even then, that's only viable if the big fan (the one that cools the light) is off. obviously we can't have the air cooled hood not being air cooled or the tent goes to like 83*F. not tragic but we'd really like to keep everything between 70 and 79*F. soooooo basically the only time we can get humidity over say, 48% is when the light is off for six hours. and i'm not sure going from 80% humidity to ~45% every day is a good idea. the filter/fan is on it's lowest setting and we just cannot get it more humid in there!

our plants are in veg and about 3.5 weeks old, from sprout time. we have a few different strains going at once, and all of them are presenting similar symptoms. our blue dream has gone so far as to change the shape of it's leaves, lol.

blue dream.. i know it looks like caterpillar damage but it's not.

any suggestions? should i get another humidifier? lol. any guesses on how much of a problem is this going to present and in what ways?

thanks!

hmmmmm.... ur current humidity of just under 50% is good for budding your plants..... 80% humidity is kinda high even for veg esp. during the dark hours.... you could get powdery mildew before your even blooming.. it wont for sue happen but you run the risk of it... but its not for a very long period u said 6 hours and has long has the air is moving good and your plants have some kind of mildew rsistence you should be ok. are you running your humidier on high even during dark? keep It on high during lights on and low during lights off... see what that does... if you have good drainage on your soil I would water then every other day to even dailey even if soil is still moist.. {as long has you have adequete drainage your plants shouldn't display that overwatering droopy look} plants drop from over watering cuzz roots cant get the proper air content they need.. {roots need air, leaves need co2}

45 - 55 % is a good range. You should be ok at 48% keep venting when lights are off.
yeah its not like her plants are gonna die or anything... they will still grow..... but I think the op is trying to get her enviorment has close to ideal has possible....

veg=higher humidty and warmer temp ideal bloom= lower humidity, and cooler temps ideal.... you could break it down even more in terms of spectrum of light best for both stages...

idk i guess i was just hoping the leaves would feel better more quickly :P but i just went in there and moved the humidifier to an opposite corner bc we leave one of the zippers part way open to keep it cool... and the humidifier was right in that spot. maybe this will help...

I'm at 16% humidity and the girls are doing fine. Not showing any signs like your pics.
Hey man 16% is way too low for proper plant and flower development. Read up on transpiration and everything else related to proper plant development with correct humidity levels. At 16% humidity your plants will transpire so fast it will negatively affect their development big time. Especially when flowers are trying to form and grow.
